Synthetic oil should help give you more mpg. But it will cost more per oil change. But then there are synthetics out there that says to change oil every 25k miles or once a year. Even though your owners manual says to do it more frequently. To do it as per the synthetic’s instructions. You should change your filter at half way and just add the make up oil. Which most likely, people won’t do that anyway.
As for pulling the dipstick. Every couple of gas fill ups until you get a feel for the car. Then you’ll learn how often you need to check it.

Just noticed the Fusion in one of your posts. It is sometimes not good to put synthetic oil in a high mileage car. Unless it has had synthetic oils in it early on. Or had very regular oil changes on petroleum oils. You may develop oil leaks!

The world has moved on from basic mineral oil and push rod engines; everyone outside of your weird Armish experiment has been using fully synthetic motor oil for decades because it is objectively superior in all ways.

My car has a service interval of 20,000 miles, because it wasn't built out of crap and lubricated with buttermilk.

Conventional vs synthetic. If I change oil in cars (and I usually do my family's cars) I always use a high grade synthetic plus a good filter. If I go to a shop, I only get the cheapest conventional. Why? because you can't trust that they put in what they say they do or that they put in the best filter - and no you're not going to check a filter between oil changes. it's too much trouble. If you believe them and they lie you're risking your engine. And yes, I have known guys who worked in auto shops and told me shops are cheating people all the time.

synthetic, changing depends on the car. Honestly, don't think it's essential. Costco has cheaper synth.

I check it in the Honda since Hondas burn oil. Toyota/lexus I check, but it's never an issue.

I go with synthetic on my car, mainly for the longer intervals between oil changes.

Both, the level as well as the kms. Synthetic oil is recommended by Hyundai.

Don't look at me like that. Back in the day I had an Austin Metro, I checked the oil every week and it always needed topping up. Oil went straight through that car. Then I got a Fiat Punto and the oil level never changed so eventually I gave up checking.

There's a reason why the British car industry collapsed. They produced garbage and expected people to wear it.

Full synthetic and it really depends on how many miles is on the car on how often I’ll check it, if the car has high mileage, then I will check it probably every time I fill up
