+1 yThey're both cool to me... I think I just like animals. When I was a kid I would breed crabs, African dwarf frogs, hampsters, rats, toads, and various lizards... then sell them to the pet store. My giant room sounded like a fucking madhouse at night... and I also had crickets to sell. Straight farming.
When it comes to dogs and cats... way more personality involved. Cats are cool because you can fuck with them and it's just normal... a dog... really loyal.
I haven't owned shit like that since I turned 18 and joined the military. One day. I also took care of goats and horses when I was younger.

+1 yDogs. They're MUCH smarter than cats, they will at least do things and SHOW their affection for you, they play with you, they understand English, they can guard the house for you when you're away, they don't scratch things up or spray all over the house and make it stink to high heavens and they don't jump up on your kitchen counters where you make your meals after they just finished batting around their own turds in the litter box and, they piss and shit OUTSIDE where it belongs!!

+1 yI have owned dogs before and never a cat and I think I would like a cat more because cats are more intelligent than dogs. I got bored of my dog after a few years because he wasn't very smart and always had the same expressions. We kept him around til he died after around 17 years but I stopped enjoying him after 2 years.

What breeds of dog did you have?
- +1 y
@SlothySlob I had a maltese and he was very poorly trained. I avoided him cause my mother encouraged him to lick your hands and body and I thought it was dirty. Maltese dogs are intelligent but my mom did not teach him manners so the dog had an unpleasant personality.

Oh, I love animals! I'd be happy with either but I have a cat named Chip. When I'm home, he's lliterally like my shadow and follows me all over the house. He is 100% a lap cat and just wants to cozy up and cuddle. When it's time for bed, I usually sleep on my side and Chip sleeps perched on my hip.

@comekitty Sounds like an ideal kitty! 😊 Unfortunately, I don't have a cat right now (can't have pets where I'm currently living), but Chip sounds like the purrrrfect cat. What kind of kitty is he?
- +1 y
@Adventurer23 yes, chip is pretty great in my book. He's a medium haired gray tabby cat - so he's mostly a dark gray but he has tiger like stripes that look almost black but they're really a dark Sable color, bright green eyes, and a dark pink nose. He's usually waiting in the window for me when i get home from work and sometimes I call him - BooBoo Kitty. Sorry you can't have any pets - the right pet can be really nice. 🙂
- +1 y
@comekitty Awwwww, I love grey tabbies! Always one of my favourites. The way you describe him he sounds cute. 😊 He sounds like an ideal kitty though, with a lot of the traits I look for in a cat. But yeah, it sucks not being able to have a kitty of my own. When I get one it'll very well could be a tabby, but Maine Coon kitties have really grown on me quite a bit too. They're really chill, big kitties with a lot of really nice traits, and they're known as "gentle giants". Hopefully someday sooner than later! 😊

Cat. They are introverted like me, they mostly take care of themselves, they keep you in check, they are cutely chaotic, their cuddles are so therapeutic, they have boundaries and need space every once in a while which also gives you time to yourself, and they’re just adorable ☺️

+1 yI love both— but I have two cats currently. I am on the go a lot and wouldn’t be a responsible pet owner if I had a dog.
One of my cats is a 4 year old male and the other is a 6month old female. I love them so much.I grew up with a dog and I adored that one. I’m just an overall animal lover.
10 ReplyBoth have a place in the world and I would definitely miss either one. We have a cat in our household and I wouldn't want to have a dog but I like going out with a dog from a friend form time to time. Preferring to have a cat but otherwise couldn't tell.

+1 yWell, I guess that depends upon what I need. If I have to control rodents, I want a cat. If I need to guard against someone sneaking up on me, I want a dog. —each to its own use.
I probably need both, of course, but I do prefer to keep the cats outside in the barn.
10 Reply- 1.4K opinions shared on Other topic.
+1 yFirst, I love both.
I pick dogs. They can seem to love you more than cats. Some cats are more loving but not all. I don't know of any animal that is as devoted and loves you the way a dog loves you.
Also, if you are in danger a dog will fight to protect you, a cat will hide under the couch until the danger passes. You may get killed in the process but kitty will live through it.

+1 yI like both, but a dog - at least the ones I would get like a Husky or a German Shepherd - will pull me out of a burning house. A domestic cat simply cannot, but some are pretty cool in other ways:

+1 yCan't I have them both?
The only difference between them is if you raise them
Dog: She feeds me and cares about me. She must be god.
Cat: She feeds me and cares about me. I must be god.
20 Reply773 opinions shared on Other topic. Cats because they are cute and furry and for most part silent and independent. And if you raise them correctly they love to be petted. Dogs are larger only make annoying sounds, ie whine, bark or growl and is to pushy.

+1 yI’m a dog person so dogs for sure, although cats are cute too and interesting, I just feel like dogs are more playful and fun but all animals deserve love and care at the end of the day❤️I love my fur baby.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI much prefer cats, its what I grew up with, I understand them better and they dont need anything from me besides food and shelter, they choose to spend their time with me and they do it because they like me, dogs are clawingly desperate to please and that is off putting.

+1 yI think I like dogs and cats but each of them can have their own ways of causing problems if they're not raised right they can poop on the floors or also cats can place their claws down on furniture and dogs can destroy things like toilet paper, so it's to choose just one. Both animals need proper training.
00 Reply748 opinions shared on Other topic. I like both and both have amazing qualities. I currently have dogs though and they don’t do well with cats. Once my dogs go I think I’ll get a smaller dog and maybe a cat to raise together

+1 yDogs, dogs are the best, they are better than people,
They’re loving and caring they’re always there for you and they sit there and “listen” when you’re down.
Cats however are aholes who just ignore you and think they’re better than you.00 Reply- 1.8K opinions shared on Other topic.
