How do you pronounce the word ‘huge’?

I say it "yuge." Probably because my grandparents were from New York. I also do the same with humor, humid, humiliation, humongous, and Hugh.

Yeah that’s ridiculous. Media and you here say New York but… that’s subjective. Maybe even specifically geographic for New York…

I know people who lived in New York longer than me… we’re talking 50 years plus, who never said “yuge.” Everyone back in my old community did not say yuge.

I never said yuge. My relatives never said it.

With research into this- I think it’s just a trump and sanders thing.. if other New Yorkers actually say it like that… then it’s a regional thing for New York, and not the entire state.

Not the entire city either. It’s not even limited to just one borough. ☝️ if heard in one borough it’s not exclusive to that borough.

Seems like a lack of education or so but I won’t back that final statement up. 👐

I thought this meant:

( Hyuge/ h• you• Juh) vs (hoo• juh)

which was somewhat difficult for me to grasp lol

but then I heard the audios as:

Huge vs Yuge

and I can admit: I never heard anyone say: Yuge or Hooj

always always hear Huge/ Hyuge lol
