If u get arrested for DUI and the blood test comes back negative 4 drugs and alcohol so the charges get changed to reckless driving is that anybetter?

Retired DMVer here. If you have a sample of blood drawn and your results are.08 BAC or lower you will not be charged with anything. Now if you were speeding and they pulled you and had suspicion you could be impaired then you could get the speeding ticket or whatrever the original offense may have been. Whatever you do, do not refuse to submit to a blood or breath test. The state in which the offense occurred will take action and penalize you an additional one year on your revocation in addition to the already standard one year suspension or revocation period. Also you might have to have an ignition interlock installed in your car for no less than a minimum of 6 months. This depends on how high your BAC was and if it is your first DUI. Ignition interlock is expensive to have installed and you must go to have the results downloaded every month. They also charge you to install it and calibrate it each month. Failure to do so they can return your back to the court for punishment. All DUI convictions usually require that you attend an Alcohol Safety Action Program. This program can run upwards in costs around $350 to $500 and last several months or more. Then when the court transmits the conviction to your state's DMV then they are going to require that you file high-risk AKA signed risk insurance for 3 years and it is super expensive. I have heard some have to pay as much as $1,000 a year for 3 years. Some insurance companies do not deal with these high-risk policies so they will drop you as a customer. I really hope for your sake you are not charged with a DUI. FYI a DUI usually stays on your record for 11 years and usually carries demerit points of -6. If you operate a commercial motor vehicle well you are just screwed.

my blood test came back negative for drugs and alcohol so they changed the charge to reckless driving b/c I was speeding and driving on part of the road you are not supposed to drive on. Anyway, they initially thought I was impaired but the blood test showed otherwise. I still got a 2 month suspension, but I work as a pilot and on pilot job applications you have to check yes if you've ever been arrested or convicted of a DUI so it doesn't matter that I didn't get a DUI I still kind of get treated like I did. It sucks

Yes. Where I live a DUI is automatic suspension. Reckless Driving is just a moving violation

This happened to me and my drivers license was still suspended for 2 months afterwards. Also when I fill out applications for jobs sometimes there is a box that asks have you ever been arrested for DUI and I have to check yes. Its like it doesn't matter whether there was a conviction or not.
