Are criminal misdemeanor tickets considered an arrest even if you dont gp to jail?

For legal purposes, you were under arrest even if they didn’t physically arrest you. Anything criminal is technically an arrest. Traffic citations are typically not criminal and are just a civil summons. So not an arrest, even though traffic tickets show up on a background check.

For certain minor offenses, police have the option to issue a citation and release you on the spot. It saves time and resources. Would you rather have been taken to jail? Lol

You're released on the spot with a court date and/or a date to pay the fine. If you're delinquent in either case, it will become an active arrest warrant.
