Technically speaking animals can commit suicide, Hugo the orca whale committed suicide by repeatedly ramming the wall of his tank; his necropsy revealed a brain aneurysm. Kathy the dolphin famous for playing flipper committed suicide by holding her breath and drowning herself in her trainers arms. That was in 1968.


Animals will also kill for pleasure; there’s been cases of Orca whales tail slapping seals and leaving their corpses; they do it for fun. Domestic cats will kill for fun and the thrill of the hunt. Lions commit infanticide and while there is a reason for it many males will make a game of it. Dolphins will kill porpoises and will mob and kill another dolphin then play with the corpse. They’ve also been known to murder a calf and rape its mother.

You know, murder for pleasure and suicide are things even humans don't ususally do. We even pretty much all agree that there's seriously something wrong with the individuals that do.
And funny enough, most other answers here are completely based on humanity's cultural advancements, but if you take them out and look at reasons and origins to that behavior you'll notice that there really isn't much that humans do that other animals don't.
The biggest difference, the one thing that truly is humanity specific, is that we seek cultural advancements to facilitate our lives and become more effective.

A) lemmings don't just jump off cliffs, they were driven off the cliff by the film crew that fabricated that statement (a disney documentary, by the way) B) yes, animals court each other, and they court like hell. So I double checked and we were both wrong. Lemmings do die en masse due to their migrational behavior, and disney filmmakers did drive them off a cliff for a documentary, according to wikipedia. They don't commit suicide though.
And yes, there are animals, mostly pack animals with a clear alpha, that have no courting behavior. Because there's a pretty clear sexual hierarchy. You claimed animals do not court, and that's just a obviously false statement
