I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your AC. Since the technician has informed you that the exterior coils are freezing up, it's possible that there may be an issue with the refrigerant level or there may be a blockage in the system. It's always important to get a second opinion from another AC company if you feel unsure about the diagnosis or if you suspect that the company may be giving you the wrong information.
Since the same company that installed your AC also came out to diagnose the issue, it may be worth considering reaching out to another reputable AC company in your area to get a second opinion. Before you do so, however, you may want to reach out to the original company and ask for a written report outlining the diagnosis and any recommended repairs. This can help you better understand the issue and ensure that the next company you work with is on the same page as the original company.
Thank you. We called them and asked what was going on they told us the part we needed and estimated cost. With the number being so high we reached out to another company who told us the first company was completely wrong. The part wasn’t bad it was because they had two filters in and we only needed one. That tech was kind and helpful and charged me less than $100
Sorry you are having problems. This happened to us a couple of years ago. Come to find out the AC system froze up because we had not changed the filter in like a year ( shit happens, people get busy). We changed the filter and let the coils thaw out and the AC worked like a champ.
It was a filter issue we had two in there one was a built in filter and the other the disposable one. We only needed one he said once we took the other out it started working great.
You should have had your A/C repaired or at least a definite diagnosis from the technician before they left.
It's possible that the technician may have been a really new greenhorn. Residential A/C service is not so difficult that you should be left hanging as you are.
I'd call the A/C service company and explain what happened, without yelling at them.
I would think that they would want you as a customer to be happy.
Good luck to you.
Unfortunately he wasn’t new he was just a very rude man. I don’t think he wanted to go on our call and that’s why we got the ole shove off. That company called told us it was a super expensive part and that our warranty was no longer valid. After asking about the part I reached out to another company and that teach was able to tell me the part was fine we just needed to remove the built in filter and only use the disposables and it would work. The original company was unfortunately very dismissive of our concerns.
