Is it wrong that I dont remember any of the death dates of my friends?

i can't remember when any of my friends died, is that rude or disrespectful or wrong? should i know them, should i feel forced to know them?

I don't think you should feel forced to remember exact details of something that would be very upsetting and even traumatic... and I don't think it's about wrong or right, nor intentional, the fact that you do not remember specifics can be rather common

personally, I've never been able to recall anything that happened after the days my best friend died, only till the days in which the burial happened, few days after, I do have some brief memories of that day

everything else is not even a blur or vague memory... I'd even forget which year did that happen, and the one way I would remember about it was thinking about who won the Super Bowl around those years, lol... doesn't mean that I didn't care about them, it's just that lesser details that are specific might not register well and then, you might not feel like recalling experiences with such negative impact

Everyone's memory is impacted by their personality, interests, how they were raised, drugs, and just many things. I don't think you should have to remember the exact date of your friends as if you were living in a TV show, lmao.

I don't know your friends that passed, but at least one of them if they came back would tell you they wouldn't remember either.

I only remember that I learned my grandpa died when I was gifted Harry Potter at a party, I learned my uncle died while waiting for my flight to to Europe, I learned my grandma died during a dinner party at my house, and my high school classmate died on the exact day I finished university, which was April 6th. My other uncles death was not revealed until months or years later and I was planning to hire a personal support worker for him with my book earnings, but he is dead now.

Things that you should feel will comes naturally without forcing. For example i remember when my beloved bird died and when and where. His death shattered me and still 3 years later i am not over it. And i blame myself and keep asking if i was able to do more to protect him. I dont force myself to remember him. Sadness comes naturally
