I'm an extremely light sleeper but only because I have extreme hyperacusis (ear sensitivity due to a heightened perception of db & certain frequencies.

I wear earphones, earbuds, or headphones every night while I sleep so that I can play noise through them. If I don't have them, I'll wake up from the smallest sounds. Like a literal pen drop (since it would actually hurt my ears if I were awake).

Sometimes the cat peeing in the litter box (out in the garage) wakes me up, then other times a cannon going off will not wake me.

Used to be a deep sleeper. Since moving to this neighbourhood where it is quite, to the point you could hear a pin drop. I have become a light sleeper and I hate it. I miss the trains going by, the helicopters flying over every night and hearing the emergency vehicles sirens
