The way I interpret it means that nothing stands out about you either negatively or positively (which isn't a good thing) both in terms of looks and personality, and someone that people see as a plain Jane and non-threatening/doormat to step over and a conformist.
Personally, it's the worst thing one could call me; I'd rather be called ugly than not having a personality

No, absolutely not.

Watch the Academy Award Best Picture "The Best Years of Our Lives". The character of Norma is the iconic (and literal) "girl next door" as she is an angel whom any man would happily marry.
You can watch it free here on YouTube.
Thank you for the movie recommendation. However, a woman's worth shouldn't be defined by whether men think of her as marriage material, or not
I 100% agree. I wrote what I did because, all too often, young ladies here are constantly worried by their physical attractiveness to men. That's why there's a How Do I Look? topic.
But, you are right and that's part of my point - that a woman's value lies beyond her looks and Norma perfectly illustrates that.

I made a huge error... The character is not "Norma"; her name is "Wilma".
"The Best Years of Our Lives" should be required viewing in high school.
No, it's not offensive. You absolutely have the wrong definition for the girl-next-door phrase.
If that's true then how do you explain Playboy's the girls next door?
Also doesn't have a personality, but is a bimbo on top of that
Well yeah, I said playboy didn't i.
