+1 yYou know that thing women do when they talk about an issue and don't really want a solution but instead just want to be heard and have their feelings affirmed? I do that too.
I also say things when emotional and then I tell them to "hear what I mean, not what I say".
It's like my sisters say, I have a feminine-leaning mind and am too intuitional for my own good, as a straight man.
This is probably because my dad is a bit like that as well, he never was a model of masculinity, in that sense.
Also because I grew up with two sisters, they taught me to communicate their way. But I was still expected to be a 'man', though none taught me or gave me an example.
But that is also how it is in other areas growing up as a man, lots of expectations and no understanding of where or how you'd know any better. You're supposed to be hated, feared and crawl through knives while learning how to walk that thin line of a man.
Sorry, I am tired. This is a weird rant and a bad post. Going to post it anyway.12 Reply- +1 y
No I totally get it! I’m quite like that too actually, I like talking about my feelings and emotions. I never used to be like that though, but I’d like to think of it as good personal development. It’s healthy to be that way, and not keep everything inside. Unlike you though, I grew up with an extremely stern and ‘masculine’ dad, who was very cold-hearted and quite miserable actually, so I probably learned from him not to be that way.
- +1 y
Yes ofc, it's healthy. But it comes out as whiny to my more masculine male friends, I've learned (or am learning) to identify which friends tolerate it and understand it, it's mostly like-minded friends.
But the parts where I am saying one thing and meaning another, that's just bad habits. People aren't mindreaders and it's stupid to think it's acceptable to behave like that unless you KNOW they know too, which requires you to really know the person and vice versa.
Fortunately, it's only like that if I allow myself to be emotional, which is pretty much only with close friends so they forgive me. Mostly.

+1 yI like to shop. I can get lost in a mall for hours and I'm not ashamed of it! I think it's because growing up, my family didn't have much money, so shopping was painful because it was only what we needed to survive. Now, I can basically get whatever I want. It is fun and relaxing for me, especially around Christmas.

Same! I love shopping

+1 yA lot of people actually told me that I'm kinda tomboyish back in my teenage years! But here are some of my "masculine" traits:
I enjoy watching sports. I am a logical thinker and look for pragmatic solutions, which I personally don't think is necessarily masculine because I honestly don't find most men to be logical or practical 😂😂😂 I am also very independent and masculine in my relationships, as in I don't mind the idea of a more egalitarian relationship and giving my man some special treatment that most girls expect only for themselves, and mostly try to get my things done by myself, basically I'm not a "damsel in distress". I also can't cry around other people, even someone like my boyfriend.
I am very feminine presenting for the most part still. The way I dress, look, carry myself etc so hardly anyone associates me with being masculine, but I find that I do have some masculine behavioral traits that become obvious when I interact with other women especially.

+1 yHave loved board shorts, shirts and Ts far more than dresses/skirts. I do gardening, painting, home and car maintenance work for myself: lawn mowing. Love hunting and fishing too. So having loose, easy clothes that wash easily works. Same clothes work for my job at a furniture store.
Dresses are for graduations, funerals, special events. I avoid them unless necessary.
I do like makeup and wear lipstick to dress up my face anytime. I put on eye shadow and the rest to go out to something nice like dinner with friends. Another job I have, with a uniform I wear makeup to. I wear small hoop earrings all the time. And occasional bracelets of turquoise, jade, puka shells. But they're fairly unisex.
I value comfort over trendy/sexy. My clothes have to work with what I'm doing. I can wear sexy stuff for a sexy event. I've got that hanging around, and it's fun. But daily, practical.

u +1 yIn the typical sense.. I don’t wear makeup, don’t like getting my nails done, don’t wear feminine clothing, I have a deeper voice than most women I’ve met, I play video games a lot, I listen to heavy metal, I have tattoos - which I guess could be seen as masculine since they aren’t dainty or typical womens tattoos. I don’t wear any jewellery except for a silver ring, I don’t enjoy shopping, I’m terrible at cooking except for 3 specific meals, I don’t clean unless I have to, Im a smoker and I workout a lot. All of that could be viewed as masculine. I’ve never really thought about it.

Ohhh do you look like a punk?
- +1 y
Not really, I just wear simplistic clothing, and usually men’s clothes because they’re more comfortable. And I don’t wear makeup, and my hair is normal - no crazy style or colour. So I don’t think I’m punk.

+1 y1) Wear guy shirts because they're loose.
2) Sit with legs spread in my home. Like this but back against chair. No, I don't wear skirts or dresses, hate those too.

3) Love my video games.
4) I don't wear makeup and don't like it.
5) I actually find clothes shopping boring. Shopping for video games, books, and merchandise is much more fun.
6) I prefer guy hoodies, much more comfortable.
10 Reply I’m stubborn and refuse to ask for help from anyone there for I drive a truck so if I need to move something I can move it. I’m a single mother so if something breaks around the house I fix it, I’ve moved washers and dryers in and out of my house. I’ve chopped my own fire wood, I go hunting, I’d rather be out side doing yard work instead of inside cooking and cleaning, I absolutely love to get lost in the hills… though I never actually get lost. I believe that hard work pays off and I’m willing to get dirty and my hair still looks great while doing it 😂

+1 yI hate to admit it, but I used to work out a ton until about late 2020 when I got diagnosed with multiple heart related issues. Since then, I haven't been able to workout nearly as much, have lost a ton of weight both muscle and fat, and look more thin and feminine from the waist up when you look at me from behind. At least, if I have my hair tied back (used to all the time whenever I worked out). Not proud about, but not too much I can do about it either, as things stand.

@WhiteBoyChill really? I've never heard that b4. I've always bren told it's masculine to get angry.
- +1 y
You kidding? Its feminine to get angry.
Its masculine to not give a shit and overcomplicate things - +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill oh, cool! Then I guess I'm already pretty feminine, and the people who said that were just all masculine women and feminine men. Although i guess it could be a cultural difference too. I live in the USA, and here I often see anger and violent acts strongly tied to masculinity, and passiveness and peaceful behavior strongly tied with femininity. Do you just live in a different culture where they do it the other way around? Not to say you're wrong, just that I'm trying to be feminine where I live.
- +1 y
I live in the USA too. And men that behave in agressive manners are childlike.
They don’t even deserve to be considered “men”. Because real men have self discipline and control and restraint. Its only young boys who are suppossed to throw temper tantrums. I’m so past that stage of my life.
Also yeah, women are supposed to be passive and peaceful. But they overwhelmingly aren’t.
I’ve known plenty of guys in relationships and all it did was add drama and complication to their lives.
Why should any guy want that for themselves?
But yeah, I seriously hate how your immediate assumption was to assume I’m from a different culture just because I had the audacity to present a different viewpoint - +1 y
Also in regards to the whole “anger and violent acts strongly tied to masculinity”, maybe try learning about the whole “machismo” culture they got in Latin America, and the high rates of gender based violence they have there.
The US hails in comparison to the extremeness of many other countries. Yet you overprivaledged brats would rather advocate for yourselves than women in actual need of help. - +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill OK so... so men are emotional, but aren't supposed to be. And women also aren't supposed to be, but also are. So... so why do think there's a difference at all then? It seems you think both men and women are angry and emotional, and neither of them should be. Maybe it's really just a childish thing like you said, and not a masculine or feminine thing after all? In which case I'm just childish lol.
- +1 y
That’s not what I said. I said there are appropriate and innapropriate ways for a person to behave when expressing their emotions
- +1 y
Also I disagree with you on the assertion that most men have rage problems. I was saying merely that the men who do have rage problems are man childs
- +1 y
And yes, I would argue that most young women are very immature and teenager like
- +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill so it is a childish thing, not a masculine or feminine thing. That's all I was saying there. Okay.

So wearing a pink dress could still be considered a masculine thing to do?
Are you hearing yourself right now? - +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill: A dress is woman's attire, not a trait.
A trait is something inherently. - +1 y
So a woman that screams and bitches at everyone could still be considered feminine and lady like?
- +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill: She's still feminine because she's a woman, she just will be considered annoying and rude.
- +1 y
I associate being feminine with actually having good character. Its a personality not a biological concept.
- +1 y
Here is a definition for you.
“having qualities or an appearance traditionally associated with women or girls” - +1 y
So yeah. A woman that dresses in guys clothes and acts like a rotten insufferable b*tch can’t be considered feminine
- +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill: F*&$ what tradition says.
A woman can't never cease to be feminine. It's her biology.
Her dressing in man's clothing just makes her a twisted pervert but the fact remains she's biological woman thus feminine. - +1 y
Being a biological female isn’t the definition of being feminine.
I just gave you an explicit definition.
You dont get to decide for yourself what a word means if its already been defined - +1 y
CLEARLY defined
- +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill: You gave one definition. Feminine means female and masculine means male. It's basic 101 biology.
