Do you sleep in complete dark or no🫣?

Question

I have a globe that light up and I keep my door a bit open and have the lights on in the room outside.

Oh, man.. I sleep in complete darkness. It should be so dark that you can't even see your hands in front of you. The reason I suggest this, is because light can really mess up your internal clock. When light hits our eyelids, it will activate certain receptors that reduce melatonin leading to awakening. The second reason why sleeping in complete darkness is amazing is because only in darkness will your pineal gland produce and secrete melatonin.. And I'm very sensitive to light and sound. That's why the place where I sleep must be hella dark and quiet.

I prefer total darkness, but it's often not practical for me, so I've had to learn to deal with some light. Living in a hot area, running the A/C all night is extremely expensive, and while it's necessary on really hot nights, many nights are cool enough where keeping windows and doors open will cool the house enough to sleep. This inevitably means that light is going to get in too - street lights, neighbor's lights, etc.

Cold winter nights means black-out curtains and closed doors are possible, and then I can have inky black darkness.

I would, for the most part, if I could get to bed before sun up! Otherwise, the only lights around would be the tiny light on the volume knob, the tiny power button on the computer, the 5 tiny lights on the modem and the street light outside my window.

There are no lights on but some of the outside streetlight leaks through the window blinds, so it's not pitch black when I sleep.

Got to have darkness and silence. At least quiet. A car driving by is fine. But sometimes its to quiet. Like if a feather hits the grass and you can hear it. That's to quiet... lol

Dark. No light. I have this little light that mimics those coffee shop light.. it's relaxing. It helps me sleep. I turn it off when I get sleepy.

I mean I typically leave my t. v. on but it has a timer so it'll shut off on it's own. Otherwise I sleep in the dark.
