What is your favorite thing about Halloween?

I enjoy sitting down to watch horror movies and eating candy. I'm a horror movie buff, the best movies come out around Halloween. Also enjoy passing out candy to the kiddos. Seeing what they dressed up as. Some of them have really cool costumes. What do y'all like about Halloween?

I’m more a fan of fall. I certainly take advantage of the availability of candies that were around when I was a kid. Nostalgic. Horror movies make me angry. The occasional costume party is fun. Creative costumes, especially the homemade ones.

we had a gangster themed party a few years ago. One daughter and my ex-wife dressed up as flapper girls. My older daughter was still really young, and she dressed up like a gangster with 5 o’clock shadow, wearing a suit and a hat. I cut some cardboard into the shape of a violin, painted it black and put a handle on it. I went as a corrupt judge, so I was wearing my glasses and a robe, and I had a gavel and some money sticking out of my pocket.
The problem with my costume was I had a round glasses, so everybody thought that I was dressed up as Harry Potter…🤦

It’s funny now. But I thought I had put some originality into my costume, but everybody was calling me Harry Potter. Now it’s hilarious.

All that. I usually watch the movie or at least listen to radio show of, "War Of The Worlds" and watch the two Dr. Phibes movies and maybe, "Halloween III". I like handing out candy to the kids and then going up to the boro building where my neighbor dresses like Elvis Presley and plays Halloween records and others for the kids to dance to and parade around for the costume contests. But, where I am, now, I'm lucky if I get 3 to 5 kids and the boro building is almost 2 miles away and I very seriously doubt they've got anything going on!
Being completely alone doesn't help, either.

Where I am now is up on a hill in a plan where there's only about 50 houses and not many kids are gonna hump a fairly steep hill just for a little candy, and there's not very many that live here. It's mostly older people.

I love to see how cute the kids are in their costumes! But we have not had a single trick or treater in years cause there are criminals who live near by. When I first moved into this house, we did have trick or treaters and it was amazing to hear their cute voices and see their cute costumes and talk to them before giving them chips.

Trying not to think too much about candy, I also like the Fall atmosphere and fun costumes. I personally haven’t been in a costume since I was little, but cosplaying looks very fun. (Though expensive…)

Personally I love the day after where my favorite Halloween candy is 1/2 price and luckily when it comes to genetics and always being active I can splurge eating Reese's cups and Haribo gummy bears like there is no tomorrow and I end up losing weight due to a healthy metabolism 😁
