Yes, sometimes it is okay and even necessary to lie. Take the example of a white lie. It is a lie nevertheless but it can save you or the person you lie to a whole lot of trouble.

Example?

Ok, then you have this small child that just lost her parents for example. You will tell that child that "everything will be okay". This is a white lie because in the near future, nothing will really be okay for that child.

Is it better to tell that kid the truth and cause potential trauma or is it perhaps better to tell him/her a white lie so that the child is less traumatized?

@Longshanks1968 You know nothing about me, i hate lying and i almost never do it, i hate white little lies all of it, but the truth of the matter is that lying is sometimes neccessary and if i lie to a person, it usually means i dont really care about them, i never lie to people I care about and I actually am very good detecting when someone is lying so one more reason i dont lie. I understand my opinion sounded like im ok about lying, but really no. Also im pretty direct person, i reject guys directly and i never ghost, so I don't know what are your frustrations but you are coming at the wrong person.
Lying for someone to leave you alone or not to judge you is usually at work place where its better to not get in conflict with people you will see on daily basis, but lying even then is my last resort as i dont want to make things very awkward by being very rude to them and saying fuck off, its also smart not to show you something bothers you so you lie to keep it cool. Lying is not inherently evil. Plenty of people lie to spare another friend's feelings if you know they don't handle criticism well. You can also lie to protect others like if you knew they would be in trouble or lose something if you told the truth. It's when you lie to manipulate, control, or endanger others that it becomes a much more malicious act.

I can't sugarcoat things to others, and I don't like when others sugarcoat info to me.
I think it's better to have a friend or to be a friend and fill the person in on the truth rather than letting them go through life with a false belief about how others view them.
