you can go back and make amends.
or pray to God for forgiveness and make amends elsewhere.
or give someone else forgiveness when they do the same to you.
For what it's worth, I've been on the receiving side of this several times now, you aren't the only poorly trained $!@#!2... ahem.. human that lacks responsibility. it's the training of people these days.
Also... double check why your brain mis fired. there are reasons this happens, but that is extreme. find the source, fix it. Until then, go slow and double check your decisions.
When you are sick or pmsing or upset or hungry, etc.. your brain will make calculation errors.

well you made the mistake. it's a crummy one since someone will be financially impacted. but ultimately if you own up to your mistake on your own and vow not to do it again that's the best you can do and we all have to forgive ourselves at some point so long as we truly are remorseful and learn from it
perhaps you can drive back to the story and just give them your info. let them know that if a person comes in and complains about a hit and run to give them your info. or you could also contact the police and see if anyone reported a hit and run on that date around that time
Wow so you hit someone's car and left them with a damage bill that could be in the hundards or thousands to fix and you want sympathy?
Do you realise there may have been a car near by that had a camera recording and captured everything. I have a dash cam and a reverse camera and both are set up to automatically turn on in an accident.
Congratulations on winning a Troll of the day award.
Incidentally, that picture is extremely well documented over the internet... Google Search.

Why would you forgive yourself for doing something which you know is wrong?
Somebody did this to me in 2017. It was on the passengers side and it was during the winter and we had tons of snow so I really have no idea when it happened. I had to pay a deductible but I got it fixed. It cost me 200 bucks.
That was a selfish thing that you did and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Same thing happened to me, I was so scared I panicked and drove back home. I felt awful so I called the police, told them what happened and if anyone in that town called about a hit and run to give me a call and we'd sort something out financially. I never had anyone call, but these things happen! Especially if it's the first time you've done it, it can be scary. If I were you Id do what I did. We're only human and we make mistakes!
I did something similar, and still remember and feel bad about it. I wouldn't do it normally but I was high and knew I would get a DUI. i panicked and drove off, which was really bad. I would have stayed if I was sober. I never drink and drive, and I used to think a little pot was fine. but now I never get high and drive anymore, because of this time.
I had a big truck and I did a "monster truck" move accidentally driving on top of their car a bit.
Your reaction could have been better for sure, but I do understand. Also, if we really think about it, we cost each other in small ways all the time and there’s no way to even the score. Okay, this one is somewhat bigger than usual but hardly malicious.
You can forgive yourself by taking responsibility for your actions instead of trying to not feel guilty for doing something clearly wrong.
Its normal to feel guilt when you do something shitty.
😭😭😭😭Oh my! The good thing is, you're remorseful. You'd forgive yourself with time, it can take a while. Just remind yourself to not repeat this mistake again and that you're human so your brain just went into defense mode
How would you feel if someone did that to your car? Leaving like that without Leaving a note was selfish of you. And from some of your answers you don't even feel bad. I hope someone saw you do this and took a picture of your car.
Well hope that no one took notice of that. A pair bumped into my car last hear while leaving a parking space and an older gentlemen filmed it (they were bad at driving). She now faces serious problems.
How forgiving would you feel if someone ran into your car then left. You can only forgive yourself when you go into the police & report what you did.
We all make mistakes, but I would at least leave your name, contact phone number, your license number, so you can make things right, but I'm not here to be rude because we all have a heart.
Cars and ''value'' are over-rated.
No one got hurt.
I forgive you.
Anyhow... re-think your gear procedures. Next time you may injure an innocent dog...
Better hope it wasn’t caught on camera either a dashcam or the store.
I hope you learned to be much more gentle on the accelerator.
You should probably go find the other car and own up to it.
Contact them or the cops. Your insurance should pay for the damage.
Well to be honest you just committed a felony, I would advise you to admit the truth and maybe you won't get charged with anything.
Go to the police station, confess and hopefully the law is merciful towards you.
Hit and run. So you in effect stole the equivalent of this person's deductible.
I've done it before, it's like a up high, too slow moment lol
