Do you think a 12 year old should be able to get a tattoo with no parental consent?

Not legal in Florida.
381.00787 Tattooing prohibited; penalty.—
(1) A person may not tattoo the body of a minor child younger than 16 years of age unless the tattooing is performed for medical or dental purposes by a person licensed to practice medicine or dentistry under chapter 458, chapter 459, or chapter 466.
(2) A person may not tattoo the body of a minor child who is at least 16 years of age, but younger than 18 years of age, unless:(a) The minor child is accompanied by his or her parent or legal guardian;
(b) The minor child and his or her parent or legal guardian each submit proof of his or her identity by producing a government-issued photo identification;
(c) The parent or legal guardian submits his or her written notarized consent in the format prescribed by the department;
(d) The parent or legal guardian submits proof that he or she is the parent or legal guardian of the minor child; and
(e) The tattooing is performed by a tattoo artist or guest tattoo artist licensed under ss. 381.00771-381.00791 or a person licensed to practice medicine or dentistry under chapter 458, chapter 459, or chapter 466.
(3) A person who violates this section commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083. However, a person who tattoos the body of a minor child younger than 18 years of age does not violate this section, if:(a) The person carefully inspects what appears to be a government-issued photo identification that represents that the minor child is 18 years of age or older.
(b) The minor child falsely represents himself or herself as being 18 years of age or older and presents a fraudulent identification.
(c) A reasonable person of average intelligence would believe that the minor child is 18 years of age or older and that the photo identification is genuine, was issued to the minor child, and truthfully represents the minor child’s age.
I feel the same about tattoos that i feel about gender transitions.. Not until they are 18 or older. Both are permanent and NO CHILD is capable of making that kind of choice.
No, I believe that 18 should continue to be standard age for a tattoo without parental consent, or at least that’s the age for it where I live. I’m glad I wasn’t able to get tattoos when I was under 18, I would’ve regretted so many of the ideas that I had at the time.
Nah tattoos are too permanent for a child to choose. Piercings at that age are fine tho

Where is a 12-year-old getting the money from?
There would have to be parental consent, yes?
You would think
Hell no. My friend's older brother was an idiot follower and got a swastika tattooed on his hand when he was a teenager. He thought his dad wouldn't care because he always said racist jokes. Well, his dad told him he can either A. get the shit kicked out of him and get kicked out of the house or B. sit down at the dinner table and shut the fuck up while his dad cut the swastika off his hand with a razor blade. He chose B.
So he now carries a scar in the form of a swastika. Either the father is as dumb as his son, or the story did not happen that way.
@DryGermanGuy no swastika shape there dude. Just looks like a square shaped scar.
No but hell no! They aren't a joke. They'll have it their entire life. No tattoo's period! They're ugly!
At least that’s just an airbrushed tattoo in the picture, maybe it will make him change his mind about getting a real one later in life. But a 12 year old can’t make that decision anyway just like changing their sex, so it should be at least 18 years old before doing that. I don’t have any tattoos and doubt I ever will
No way!! The boy in the picture looks like he's about 6.
99% sure this is illegal...
and 111% sure this is absolutely wrong to do
No it should remain with permission with parents until they are legally no longer responsible for the child
No. Such decision should be made when the person is aware of consequences and can bear them
no, kids are too stupid. They really need to raise the tattoo age to 21.
A 12 year old shouldn't be able to get a tatoo with or without parental consent.
no you should have to be an adult, it can’t be good doing that to a growing body
He's all smiles, don't tattoos hurt?
That’s an airbrush pistol, not a real tattoo needle.
Even 18 is young.
Obviously not
