Considering we consent to giving babies permanent holes in their ears, shouldn't we then consent to giving teens the ability to get tattoos?

Maybe one or two tops. Some thing from their youthful self should be preserved to keep an open door 🚪 for them as they age. Then they can look back and compare, and sometimes receive advice from their younger self.
Other than this- they will have much growing to do and many changes will occur. That could be a lot of regrets. Tattoos are symbolism and sometimes farewells or things longed for. That kind of misery should only be entertained when a person is well into adulthood.
The child can be offered to choose a tattoo of something they aspire to be. The standard will be engrained on their skin as a good reminder. A moral compass.
Otherwise they will be a bunch of doodles that are pain to add and remove.
A doodle book would be much more reasonable for a child and anything of true value they will give root to. They will preserve.
As a teen, I can say there are definitely some that are much more mature than others and could totally be responsible with this kind of thing. I can say that I’ve been wanting a tattoo for years for one of my friends who passed. However, my concern would be the tattooist. Would everything be safe. I understand what can happen if they don’t clean their equipment and take care of it. On that note, whoever is getting the tattoo also has the responsibility to make sure it heals well. That’s what might be the biggest issue. For teens the major thing is not getting something relatively dumb or not taking care of it
I would say that they shouldn't until at least in high school. There was a guy who was wrestling the same years I was in high school. He went to a different school and was in a different weight class, so I never wrestled against him (thank God), but he had a tattoo down his side on his wrestling record. Since he was extremely good, he might have gone on to wrestle in college and continued the tattoo, but I don't know. Since we both graduated in the same year, I saw the tattoo that just had a calligraphy word (I couldn't read it, it was vertical and he only had his shirt off for weigh ins), and then the numbers for 1, 2, and 3 years.
No. I mean I think places allow teens to get tats if they have parents permission.
but lord I’m happy I didn’t get any tattoos when I was a minor bc my tattoo ideas back then were horrific lol. That’s why I think teens should wait until they’re adults bc they’ll end up ruining their body’s with cringy shit

I'm a teen but I highly disagree with this. This is a lifetime commitment, to have a tattoo. It's like allowing a toddler to name himself and he names himself as Pedlopoodie and later becomes depressed his whole life because of his stupid selection in name. When all that youthful hormones would start fading there are high chances that the person will regret their choice of tattoo in their teens to become that cool kid of school. They can get temporary tattoos though, I'll say that's a wise choice. The tattoo stays till the youth energy stays and fades away by time like youth energy does.
As someone with a number of tattoos I say no.
I wanted my first tattoo for seven years before I had it done. I still wanted it just as much on the day received as the day the idea first came to me. I survived the wait. It also gave me time to change my mind if I’d wanted to.
Parent’s making decisions for their kids is one thing.
Kids trying to make their own decisions on such permanent things is a very very bad idea.
If I got the tattoos I wanted when I was 15, I would be unemployed and homeless right now.
I got my first tattoo at 18, my second at 29 my 3rd 4th and 5th between 30 and 32. When I was younger I wanted loads of tattoos but always had better things to spend the money on. I'm so glad I didn't get tattooed younger now as I'd be covered in shit tattoos
If their parents allow for it, as children are often considered property until they turn 18. Not property per say, but treated as such by the law.
If parents say no, they can go get them at 18.
Yeap. States are already forcing children to carry a pregnancy, a picture isn't as harmful, its cheaper, it can be nice to look at and is fixable later
U Adults, tell'm that they're too young, like they're not "man enough", and y you're sso uninspirationaL! You're suppose t' tell'm that the problem gettin' tattoo at a young age;it can b at a "different part'uh their body" in instant time;cause they're still developing/growing!.
I say no because they might regret it when their brain and heart is fully mature and should have time to think about it before they make their decision.
No, kids do really stupid and impulsive things. I worked in a K-12 system and I saw a kid that had a tattoo of Wolverine on his arm. I wondered how he was going to tell a girl who Wolverine was.
No as u would then be able to argue for the age of concent being lower or letting then drink or buy smokes
No, it’ll just get far worse as it is now. They need to get their tone watched is what
I don't see why not. If they regret it later that's on them and a learning experience.
If I had kids I'd let them get tattoos as long as they don't need my consent
They should be at least 18+ , bit even at that age lol. When we are young we make too many stupid decisions, and a tattoo is not one of those mistakes you want to make.
Why not. They want to force kids to have babies, allowing them to have tattoos should be a no-brainer.
No adults are old enough to do things they might regret but children are the responsibility of their parents.
Yes. Most teens already hit puberty, so can make their own bloody decisions.
I think not because the teen brain hasn’t fully developed.
Don't enough people have stupid tattoos already?
Their Body Their Choice
No, I think they might regret it.
Why shouldn't they, it's THEIR body
Absolutely NOT
They should not. They are minors.
Thought it was 18, like smoking…
its their body
No because teens don’t make very good decisions
Not till they turn 18, which is what I did.
Tough question
