Of course. First off, I am an adult so I can make my own decisions, mistakes or not. I would listen to their opinion but at the end of the day it's your decision and you can do what you want.
My mom made it clear to me that she disapproved of tattoos. So less than a week after my 18th birthday I got one.
Yep! Did it already! It's my body, I see it as art, I'm happy.
If you’re a grown ass adult it isn’t their damn business

Whatever rights i have i just know that my parents won't disagree with me on any opinion if it's right. If something's inappropriate for me then they'll surely tell me why. There's always a discussion such things. The last decision that's made is agreed by everyone. That's called family. I never took any decision that's opposed by my parents. Even if i did then they'll definitely understand why and agree later.
Moreover the choices i make are completely independent of everyone's opinion. My dad never says don't drink alcohol. But i know that's not good for my health so... his opinion is also accepted without a word and my choice is also clear.
It's just funny to watch some kids saying that they do whatever they want irrespective o their parent's opinion. They must know that their parents are the ones who took care of them since birth and they've far more experience than them. You cannot deny this. The intelligence you have now is a result of your parents. Their upbringing lead you to discover the world. If you think you are free and can deny every opinion of your parents then you're a fool. You can never repay the debt on you of your parents.
They never ask you to pay anything in return but it's their wish for you to use your intellect in better direction. Approve or not but always think twice before doing anything against them.
Regardless of whether "it's my body anyway", as long as I live under their roof, I abide by their rules. There is this thing called decency and respect and I have been educated to have those 2 qualities.
Once I have a place of my own, I do whatever I want and it is none of their concern anymore. But I also am not of their concern anymore either if I screw up my life. I wanted it that way and I must not go crying to them because I have nowhere to go, that I am broke or I have been otherwise abused. It is solely my fault and up to me to fix it, not up to them.
My dad didn’t approve of my tattoo. He was disappointed that I got one. My mom on the other hand didn’t care because I was over 18 and can make my own decisions but she said get it somewhere where it can be covered up. My dads family now calls me a rebel. My moms side thinks it’s cool I have a tattoo.
If you are of the age to walk into a tattoo parlor and LEGALLY get one - and pay for one - by yourself, then there is no reason why you shouldn't get a tattoo if you want one.
When I went to college, I got a tattoo. My parents didn't approve of tattoos, but because I was an adult and was paying for it myself, their disapproval didn't really matter.
{Now, they've grown used to my tattoo and love the artistry and meaning behind it.}
if I still lived with them and they said no then I would simply go and get it anyway 🤣
Hahaha
I wouldn't want one to start with, so it is a moot point.
Lets say hypothetically I wasn't of my normal mind and claimed to want one, I'd probably not get one if others didn't like my family. Pleasing my family is important and tattoos isn't important enough to hurt my family over. I'm not with this attitude that I'll do what I want.
At my age it doesn't really matter but I started getting pierced at 15 and my dad wasn't happy about it, he said I should have told him because he had a brand new set of fishing hooks with my name on it...
If you're old enough. If you're like 13 and want to get a tattoo and your parents say nah, best listen, your older self will be glad you listened. But if you're like 17 or 18 then i would assume you're mature enough to not get a regrettable tattoo.
Yes, because why the fuck do I give a shit what my parents want?
My body, my choice. Always.
Of course. I'd be getting one for me, not to please someone else.
my parents hate all my tattoos. fuck em. do what you want.
I wouldn't care what my parents think, but if my partner said he wouldn't like it then I wouldn't get it
Little trick, for the first one get something that appriciates then so they won't be as bad as something else... When u get a second they 8/10 will be have losen up by that point
Here are 2 i would get

Yes because it's my body and I am an adult who can make my own decisions
Yeah, sure. That wouldn’t happen though because growing up mine were never too keen on ‘no tattoos’. I just never wanted one.
If you’re old enough to get a tattoo, you’re old enough to not need to get you’re parents approval.
If I live on my own, yes. If you live with your parents they can make your life he’ll anytime they wish to.
That said, be careful with tats. Lots of people will judge you or just not be interested in a relationship based on tats. It’s no joke.
I don't give a crap what people think of me lol
And thats why I always date guys with tattoos.
Theyre hotter anyway.
Like my current boyfriend 😉
I have literally never met anyone that wouldn't date or have sex with someone who has tattoos.
I also meant to imply marriage. I do agree tattoos on your hands and face can limit your career opportunities the majority of the time but as far as interpersonal relationships it's just not looked the same way it was 50-60 years ago
@hahahmm Yeah I do care what my parents think but Im old enough to make my own decisions.
I live with my boyfriend.
I pay my own bills and rent.
I have several mini tattoos on me and they are all meaningful.
I've had my first tattoo when I was 18.
So I dont need your sarcastic "good luck" because I know I will have no regrets and still dont regret any of my beautiful tattoos.
And you saying many guys have higher standards for fiance/marriage?
What the eff?
You saying women that has tattoos are low standard females?
Get the f**k outta here
you're pathetic.
Many women with tattoos are married and engaged
Just because we have tattoos.. doesn't mean we are not valuable.

haven't you seen small tattoos before?
You imbecile.
If someone has a small tattoo or a big tattoo on their back, not even an interviewer can see it if they are wearing a full sleeve shirt.
you're a joke.
Meh. I am not even sure if I want to get one. But if I wanted and they disapproved I would get it anyway. I am an adult after all
I don't want a tattoo (yet) but if I ever wanted a one I'll get it whether they like it or not lol
I had piercings done but my parents asked me to remove it so i got it removed after some time
As long as you're over 18 and not living with them you can do what you want
I got one without telling my parents. My body anyways.
Yeah, not that they would disagree. My dad has a lot of tattoos.
Yea, I'm my own person, I can do to myself what I please
My grandparents raised me and they hate tattoos so when I got one they didn't talk to me for 3 or 4 weeks
I would. It’s my body. Idgaf
Of course. I'm an adult and it's my body.
I’m only 16 so I wouldn’t
I just kinda showed up with mine
yea but im too broke for a tattoo right now 😂
I tattoo might mean a lot for your parents no reason to make them sad by getting one.
Lmao you're still 18.
Wait till you're over 20.
You will make your own decisions whether your parents like it or not.
Yeah I'm 21 years old, my decision
Yes, and I did.
It's your body
Nope
