Some people drive their car for years, until it dies, while others replace their car every few years.
What about you?
How old is the car you drive most often?

I drive a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport with 175,000. I paid $1,800 for it three years ago after my Lincoln Town Car was totaled. I originally intended it to be a temporary vehicle until I got something newer and more economical but it's been very dependable, hasn;t required much other than routine maintenance (battery, tires, fuel pump) and I could probably sell it now for $1,500.
I had two Grand Marquis before I had the Town Car. Great cars!
Did you see the video on YouTube where Scotty Kilmer shows off a Grand Marquis that he bought for $200?

@AngryCarl I hadn't seen that video but I am a fan of Scotty.
Jeeze, our cars are all at least 10 - 60 years old. The oldest is a truck from the 70's and the youngest is from around 2014. We have at least 8 vehicles and 2 motorcycles. New vehicles are such a waste of money. They depreciate so quickly and don't work much better.
My personal vehicle is a Jeep from around 2006, it's got nearly 200k miles on it. Runs great, I've driven it across the country multiple times. I have no desire to change vehicles until it dies.
My husband and a salesman talked my into a newer vehicle with only 14k miles on it, and I hated it. Just seemed like such a waste when I can do all the same things for less money with a reliable older vehicle. We sold it and got me back into an old vehicle about a year later.
Mine is 2023, but my mom’s is a 2011 or 2012 Chevy traverse and I HATE it. She’s the type to run a car to the ground.
I wouldn’t keep a car for more than 5 years. I need all the gadgets because I’m not that great of a driver. It kills me whenever she wants me to drive her car.
It’s getting up there, ten years old now. Been meaning to get a newer one but I keep procrastinating, then it was the holiday season, etc. Maybe in the next couple months. Got a Toyota 4Runner targeted, I think, hopefully post-2020…. but I guess the features haven’t changed much since the mid-10s, so I could go older if it was especially low mileage. But I’d really like something under 40k miles. Might crunch the numbers and see if it even makes sense to go new, which I’m usually opposed to, but used cars are so expensive lately, if it’s a matter of $5-10k for new or low-mileage used, might as well just go brand new. We’ll see though, I can get cheap with myself in crunch time😂

11 years old. Toyota pick up. It's been in the family road trip vehicle since we got it. 165k miles. I put a lot of miles on it with my consulting business as well. Someday when the kids are grown up and moved out, I will likely reduce my carbon foot print and be on my bike everywhere.
