I'd be all for that. There's no reason to treat a pet poorly.

This also sounds like a good time to mention this, because many people aren't aware of it:

Tesla, and now Rivian, have a "pet mode" for their cars, which keeps the air conditioning on (or the heater in winter) to keep the cabin of the car comfortable for pets. When this mode is on, the main screen in the car will look something like this:

So, if you see animals in a modern car - especially a Tesla or Rivian - before you assume that the animals are suffering, check the screen. They're likely just fine. Don't break any windows or report the drivers or any of that stuff unless the animals are obviously in distress.

Obviously this doesn't work in a gas-powered car because you'd have to leave the engine running, but in an EV, the climate controls aren't dependent on an engine.

Of course. Though if your in America they don't have laws that care about animals in the first place.
Cops told me off because I tried to save a cat from a neighbour who's simply an awful person who leaves a raccoon cage out with cat food on purpose that's poisoned right next to her neighbour who has several cats.
America laws say one ain't allowed to trespass to get such cat, and once a cat is on someone's property it becomes there's. That's super messed up.
Also weirdo's with raccoon cages in the first place I met 3 raccoons over there and they were super friendly one was pretty shy but the other two didn't mind me at all.

Yes I do!! How would these people like to be locked in a hot car for hours? They wouldn't! No excuse for this to ever happen

not sure, I'd have to make a judgement call on that. I don't think anyone wants to do that but there is a logistical problem more than likely.

I'm more on the side that people need to provide support for those whom need support, so they can care for their animals and other animals.

The punishment would involve assessment as to what the root issue is. If they are inherently a cruel person that disregards animals... and we know of some from history, they do jail and are banned from having animals until such time they provide evidence of change.

I think they should get locked in a shipping container for a few days. Jail isn't even in my top ten choices, but beats nothing.

At least 10 times in my life windows have somehow suddenly imploded when I walked by them in parking lots and what have you when some assclown has done that. Stupidity should come with a financial penalty.

Yes children have died due to it so yes animals are the same as humans they suffer from the heat as we do never leave kids or animals in a hot car your risking life's imagine how you would feel in that situation
