Why is Türkiye not loved?

I live in Turkey but people are very prejudiced towards us.

I have been living in Turkey for the last 5 years and I don't think foreigners have negative and radical views about Turkey. If they have such prejudices, it is because many people think that Turkey is some kind of Middle Eastern country. And someone like Erdogan causes Turkey to paint an extreme islamist image.

Mostly because of Edorgan, but if I'm honest Turks have always had a bad reputation. They're hustlers. My mom was telling me how in the 80s in Austria they would beat them, because they were setting up businesses and ripping people off. I got ripped off multiple times when I was in Turkey. It's hard to like robbers. Also, a lot of Turks I've seen on this website are extremely arrogant and supremacistic. Turkish people would be very respected and an example of "the model Muslim", if they conducted business honestly.

but for me, it's when they try to rip off us tourists and sell things for more than what they're worth, for a muslim country where respect and honesty should be valued it's not. Other than that I love the country and it's culture

I like Turkey, they should just stay out of Europe. The EU is f-d up and Turkey has potential without the EU. I don't know enough about Turkey, but the people seem nice, the food looks wonderful and the girls are usually gorgeous
