If somebody enjoys only seeing bad people in pain but doesn’t like seeing good people in pain, would you call them sadistic?
I suppose it could still be sadism, but hard to blame anyone for enjoying a bad person suffering. This is probably a human flaw/weakness, and even for someone like me who believes in human kindness and treating others with upright intentions, I have to admit there are times when it pleases me to know someone bad got their just due.

Schadenfreude is a normal feeling. I think we all wish ill upon people we believe will do us harm or especially those who have done harm to us.

In a way it is sadistic but then, what is the definition of bad people?
Your definition may be totally different from anyone else's definition. A bad person to someone may be a good person to others. Just look at politics.
Are the presidents of the US, Russia or even China bad or good people. If you take the answers of all Chinese people, you will probably find that China's president is good while the US president is bad. Given that China has 4 times more citizens than the US, the vast majority of the Chinese will probably say that the US president is bad and the US citizens will most likely state that the Chinese president is bad.
Now, does any of those presidents deserve to be in pain? I will let you be judge.
No.
Wanting to punch a baby = sadistic
Wanting to punch someone who punched a baby = normalTechnically yeah. I wouldn't say being sadistic is necessarily a bad thing. You could be sadistic with morals. Pedos getting beat and raped in prisons is a sadistic thing but I think a majority of people think of pedos as sub human.
I'd call them retarded
