who is in danger?

am I in danger? I get out of the way in whichever way I see the most fit

are others in danger? help the ones who need help to get away from danger

the ones I love in danger? face and neutralize the danger... whatever it takes to keep my beloved ones safe

None of those. I choose to face a threat head on. Prior training in law enforcement and the military is too ingrained in me to run from danger, even though society expects me to act like a normal civilian since I am no longer in those roles.
Sorry, but something that is ingrained into your core does not just shut off just because someone stops wearing a uniform.

Seriously, though... I generally don't hide or run from anything. Neither serves any purpose. On occasion I've had to walk away from a dangerous or toxic situation.
