There's a balance. You're not free if you are not safe and live in fear.

This is one reason why FDR gave his Four Freedoms speech on 06 JAN 1941.

    https://www.fdrlibrary.org/four-freedoms

    https://www.archives.gov/milestone-documents/president-franklin-roosevelts-annual-message-to-congress

    ...

In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms.

The first is freedom of speech and expression--everywhere in the world.

The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way--everywhere in the world.

The third is freedom from want--which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants-everywhere in the world.

The fourth is freedom from fear--which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor--anywhere in the world.

I see you've presented me with a dilemma that requires a thought process more complex than a dog humping a pillow. Now, my dear fuckwit, let me ask you this, why settle for one when you can have both? Dangerous freedom, you say? The thrill of the unknown, the rush of adrenaline as you leap into the abyss of uncertainty. And yet, peaceful slavery... now that's something to consider. Imagine, being caged like a ferocious lioness, waiting for your master to come and tame you with his whip. No more worrying about bills, responsibilities, or decisions. Just pure submission to your master's will. Oh, how sweet the sound of leather cracking against flesh! But alas, there is no right or wrong choice here. It all comes down to your personal preference, your deepest desires. Do you want to ride the winds of freedom, like a bird soaring high above the clouds, or do you prefer to surrender yourself to the whims of another, like a lamb at the slaughterhouse? As for me, well, let's just say I like to switch things up every once in a while. One day, I'm a lone wolf, prowling the dark alleys of the city, free as a bird. And the next day, I'm on my knees, submitting to @bean2k21's every command, like a good member of the Orgasmosphere should. You see, pornstar wannabe, the beauty of life lies in its unpredictability, in its chaotic nature. So why limit yourself to just one option? Embrace the duality of existence, the yin and yang, the dangerous freedom and the peaceful slavery. And who knows? Maybe one day you'll find yourself trapped in a cage, begging for your master to set you free. Or perhaps you'll be riding high on the winds of liberty, only to realize that true freedom comes at a great cost and the horrors of the cock of truth that once hung between @Francine_Roosevelt's legs.

    Free vs Safe.

Well in terms of Reproductive Healthcare for women… that doesn’t work. When you are a victim of rape, incest, child sex abuse, sexual assault, miscarriage, birth control failure, etc. being free is being safe.

That BMX Extreme Biking image you showed right there is being free & being safe in regards to protective padding, specialized suit, helmet, and utilizing the proper equipment (in this case, the BMX bike), I’m going to assume training of some kind too.

You can be free while also being safe. Driving a car is seen as freedom, yet there are licenses & driving tests & safety protocols & a spare tire just in case you end up flatten on the side of the road… Seat belts too also airbags.

Free and safe work together, not against in my book.

I'm happy to be free and safe , I do not see either as exclusive..

The photo shows incredible risk , but there is risk in everyday life , especially here , we don't have the safety measures of USA / Australia / UK.

But , I learnt long ago unnecessary risk is just plain stupid , and I see it here everyday amongst young males with no idea.

This makes me recall uncle Ben’s famous quote, with great power comes great responsibility. And freedom is power. The power to independently self govern and direct one’s own destiny is coveted by so many; yet that power demands such extreme responsibility. on the micro scale, failure to appropriately plan or balance risk results in life lost; and on a macro scale, such failure guarantees the destruction of an entire nation.

I would like to be free so fucking much. But at least in this lifetime I choose to be safe because being free is next to impossible for me at this point.
    I won't elaborate.

When given the options of the freedom to choose in a dangerous situation, or a safe situation with no choices allowed, most folks will take the former option rather than the latter.

They are not mutually exclusive, they are co-dependant.

You need freedom to have access to safety, and you need safety to survive long enough to use freedom.

The only people who think they are mutually exclusive, are self destructive people with limited imaginations/experience regarding other people's desires.

Well Safety Last! is one on my all-time favorite movies. But all kidding aside. I support a near minarchist government. Protect people and their property and leave them alone.

^ This, also preserve currency value by preventing counterfeiting, maintain public services like roads, power lines, and preserve ecosystems/wildlife, etc. Basically anything that benefits their benefactors.

We are supposed to tell the gov what to do with our tax money, imagine hiring someone to work for your company, and then they start bossing you around.

      You would fire them immediately.

Flight is a form of safety. It lets you escape predators, disaster, harsh weather, and helps you find food faster.

Being in someone's house is a form of freedom, it frees up your foraging/hunting time, and makes finding a mate for you someone else's responsibility, this allows you to have the freedom to spend most of your time playing, or learning languages to ask your human for favors and treats in your luxury life.

Freedom and safety are tied together.

A couple of years ago I would have probably given you a different answer but after going through 'life' for a while now I would say I rather be safe. Always be grateful if you have a safe place to live, three meals to eat, and parents. We don't appreciate these blessings enough.

Society errs far too much these days on the side of safe rather than free. As a result, children are raised in an environment where they have far fewer opportunities than children of the past to make mistakes that build character.

After watching me rip a throat out and claw their heart out with my bare hands, I think you'll wish you just gave me the guns. I think the carcass in question probably wishes you just gave me my guns.
