Yes. I played in sand box with other kids and I throw a stone high in the air because I wanted to remove it from sandbox. Some other stupid child run in this stone. It wasn't a big deal, just a scratch on head of this kid but my father spanked me with a belt. It didn't hurt much but was rather humiliating.

Many times, however I prefer bare hand or paddle. Belt can be too floppy for a decent thwack sometimes.
