Zooming out, I find it difficult to believe in the existence of generations XYZ1234 whatever, because of two reasons:

• Validity of Strauss-Howe generational theory looks like this: Two American guys writing a book, validity of Karl Mannheim's theory of generations looks like this: One hungarian guy writing an essay.
• These so-called generations are constantly being invoked from the perspective of the shallowest spheres on earth, namely: Popular press, popular social media and corporate management trends.

Doesn't it look like shady AF lol? And when digging deeper, I find no such things as generations described like that. So, what are we doing here? Enforcing myths maybe.

It is pretty simple. Generations are given a specific timeline and surely you are capable of judging people within a specific timeline of birth, no? Boomers are going to be way different than Gen Z.

Generational generalizations aren't *MEANT* to be precise but they're useful for learning general trends. It's very broad, on purpose.

For example, I said this about Gen Z:

@Juxtapose The problem is: As soon as you speak the word Gen Z with someone relating to this word then whatever a vague generalization like yours is. Because what the other will think about is a full list of attributes in the sense of astrology.

Millennials are the most hit by financial burdens in the USA while Boomers are the richest generation. That shows how America screwed over an age bracket. It's useful, unlike astrology.

The complete disconnect between the different parts of their lives, romantic, professional, political etc; all of those things seem to be in contradiction with each other for a lot of Gen Z.

The big distinction is many of them don't know what is was like pre-internet. They might be more technologically savy than millennials or gen z'ers as well.

The generation that is younger than Millennials, roughly born 1997 to 2012. They have not known a world without the internet and cellphones.
