Like for example. There were 30 students in the class. 5 were acting out. The teacher would give them a warning. They continued to act out. Then the teacher announces that the entire class is gonna have extra homework.

Even though it's in the past now, this shit was straight up INFURIATING when I was actually going to school.

It's like god fucking damn it! Punish those 5 people not the whole class! If those 5 people are acting out then what the fuck does that have to do with me? What the fuck did I do?

I swear, some of those teachers were even dumber than the students they were teaching.

That only happened one time to me during my schooling, except it wasn't a class but the whole boarding school. To be fair it was a small one. We had to sit there and wait until someone fezzed up for throwing this chicks bike into a deep, nasty ass mud hole we called the bulls asshole. Those Mofos made us sit there for 30 minutes.

We also went through a room search once because some shit got stolen, we thought it was annoying as fuck but understood it.

Kind of reminds me of this one time in gym class in the locker room, where some of these boys were making a lot of noise, and the teacher said that until they quieted down we weren't gonna go outside, and they just kept talking and talking, the teacher waiting for them to be quiet... and they never quieted down, and the teacher kept waiting and waiting. By the time we knew it an entire hour/60 minutes had passed, the class was over, and we literally had just spent the entire class period sitting in the locker room.

Like holy shit, what the fuck was up with THAT day? Lol. 😅

Yea, it was understandable. Wasn't exactly inexpensive shit, the rich kid and his roomie got ripped (and the thieves got kicked out, thank goodness, didn't like em).

May I ask where you are from? I'm from the USA and I've never heard of collective punishment being illegal.

Does collective punishment count only against adults, or does it count against minors too? Because with the question I was picturing high school age students or younger, so minors.

I am from germany. It's on the one hand part of the school-laws. Not laws from schools but for schools. On the other hand its part of our constitution because its part of the geneva convention and we agreed to that.

Ah yeah. Thanks for telling me. So it's NOT America. I feel if it was America I probably should've known this already, lol. Would be kind of shameful to not know this sort of thing about my own country for the last 23 years.

On that front I'd say Germany is doing way better than America, from what you've said.

As good as America is it's still got a shit-ton of flaws and is nowhere the perfect paradise some foreigners and tourists expect it to be, and I highly doubt it's the best country in the world either. Perhaps far from it.

And I agree Trump was a mistake, I didn't vote for him. And I myself agree that most Americans are stupid. Not sure why you're acting like I'm some big America defender.

I just mean that like when in the country me and my parents are originally from, Brazil (I left there when I was 5 and never returned, so I don't consider myself a true Brazilian like my parents), a lot of Brazilians for some reason hate their own country and are desperately looking to come to America. Not exactly sure why, but I guess there's just a lot of advertisements about America in Brazil, and most Brazilians don't speak English so they might not see all the idiocy that happens in America.

I also remember when I was in an online Indian chat room with several people, and they asked where I was from and I said America, they were like "no shut the fuck up no you're not you're just saying that because it's the most popular country. You're from India like the rest of us, stop acting superior."

It overall kind of seems like America is thought of more fondly in non-English speaking countries, while other English speaking countries like a lot of European countries and Canada absolutely hate it.

For me I have a little bit more perspective than most Americans. Being originally from Brazil. And I have firsthand seen a lot of Brazilian's obsessions with America. It's weird. Lol.

I mean there was the American dream period in history and for a lot of people that was real. America is still a democracy (although not sure for how long) as one of the biggest countries it made sense to go to america when you didn't have freedom at all. But with hypercapitalism and not evolving from something that was once great, it just lost its uniqueness and later went down because it rested on its early laurels.

Never experienced that here. Our teachers had a keen eye on individual troublemakers. The path of escalation was: Impositions, entry into the class book, detention, temporary expulsion, permanent expulsion. Very few got detention and only one guy I know of got temporary expulsion.
