Why does dead body stink?

The same body which is alive doesn't. I am not talking about unhygienic people.. but the dead stink so bad.

In pairing news, as long as they didn’t die of something super contagious like Ebola, a dead body is perfectly safe/harmless for days after death.


There is a time limit though and depending how recently dead they are the gut bacteria will start spreading pretty quickly within the abdominal cavity which causes odour within a couple of days.


Otherwise, as they’re dying their metabolism starts deteriorating and you get more stuff like urea in sweat and other buildup-related odours as their body shuts down.

Bacteria processing the flesh creates a very distinct smell on a deceased corpse.

Cuz your body is by far at that point so relaxed that your body let go of all n everything that's in your body and your body itself starts to rot n decompose so it starts to smell on top of everything that's started decomposing so that's pretty why or sums up why a body would tend to stink n what not but it takes a while for the body to start smelling n get to any of those points but dont quote me i could be wrong but that basically sums up why bodys end up smelling like I don't know the human body is wack my bro

Well lots of tiny things start eating up the body, gas gets released and people usually shit themselves after death
