Do you miss reading the newspaper every day and especially on Sunday?

I used to be an avid newspaper reader. I really miss it.
Two different times I was writing to "Letters to the Editor" in Knoxville Tennessee and here locally.
My letters with my opinions used to be printed quite a bit. Hummm and now I am on GaG giving my opinions. 😎

COVID changed so many things from us that never came back. No more newspapers. Why didn't they bring them back after COVID?

What else stopped because of COVID?

I used to read the local paper in my slack times at work. Then do the crosswords puzzles with my coworker.

You can still buy the Sunday newspaper here. But it's like about $10. Crazy!

I don’t think Covid really had anything to do with the newspaper stopping I think it’s just because of the Internet most people get their news online without having to pay for it and it’s quicker too since when you get the newspaper, it’s day old news

Actually I believe that it had everything to do with COVID!!
I was happy getting my weekly local newspapers and reading all about things happening in my community.

I used to write ✍🏼"Letters To The Editor" almost weekly and my letters were printed in the newspaper quite frequently.
Then when COVID came along, my newspaper went from 12+ pages down to 2 pages with just the headlines of the stories. Then it said to read the article I had to go online to read it.
Well, back then I didn't have a cellphone that I could even figure out how to do that. So that's when my enjoyable newspaper reading stopped.

Here it just happened slowly and people were buying less and less of them and fewer deliveries and the the biggest newspaper on Long Island downsized and sold all their buildings 10 years ago and for the last few years another newspaper does the printing for them called the New York Times

My dad used to give me and my sisters every Sunday morning to go down and get his newpaper from the corner shop. Tight git didn't even let us buy sweets with the change 🤣.

He'd sit in his chair doing his cross words etc whilst my mum made a Sunday roast and my dad would get me and my sisters to read him a new story each out the paper to get us reading.

I really love the smell of a freshly printed newspaper. I'm happy to be part of the last generation who read newspapers before social media. I was a kid and loved solving crossword puzzles there. Nostalgic. ☺️

I miss a physical paper as well. That’s why I have a paper subscription to the WSJ.

Clinic where I work has a waiting room. News papers and magazines are still a topic for such places. However it think their business model is outdated since people prefer to use our free wifi than reading physical paper media.

The newspapers are now nothing but propaganda for the democrats. They now coat 2 bucks for a newspaper maybe half the size it used to be. I look at them on line just to read the obits. I used to enjoy them but today I could do without

No, I gave up reading the newspaper years ago. I get my news, and entertainment, electronically.

It is getting too expensive a dollar a day or more for a daily and more for a Sunday paper only to get biased news
