Of course it is. It's all about slow progression and actually wanting to change. It's literally just mental strength. You know how many people have had addictions and then once they have kids they stop simply because their will to be a good mother or father for their kids was more than their desire to continue with the addiction because it seems easier?
It is hard. It's like working out every day. You have to make the active thought each day to get up, hit the gym, and get the workout done. That's why not everyone is consistent with the gym. It's also like being financially successful. To be financially successful, you have to wake up each morning, put in the effort into your business and put in even more after you're done to scale it. Most people can't do it. It's not easy. But it's definitely possible.
Absolutely. But I'd argue you're unlikely to suddenly not want it at all.
Instead the way forward is a shift in priority and mentality. Developing new values ans building up discipline to adhere to them.
In my experience most people that actually succeed does so by quitting cold turkey, all at once. Going through a few weeks of hell and then learning to fill that craving with other things they enjoy.
So honestly, step one is to make it damn clear that you have a reason to quit. Even if that reason is just refusing to be addicted to something.
No. Addiction is usually genetic based. In that case it is a lifelong battle. So yes you can get clean and stay clean. Just don't fool yourself that staying healthy will be easy. But feeling healthy is priceless.
It takes a lot of effort and it takes a lot of commitment. There can be setbacks, but you have to be real with yourself. Understand what your goal is. Understand where you don’t wanna go back to

addictions are very possible to overcome and one thing I think a lot of people dont realize is your inhability to stop does not mean your a bad person or purposefully do it after all things like drugs and smokeing are supposed to be addicting because they want to keep you hooked if you know its bad and you did it once and nothing happened you probably wouldent do it again once considering you had nothing to gain from it
I don't have any negative addictions to overcome, but I've seen addicts quit their addictions permanently, so yes, its possible, but for a lot of them its just a matter of deciding they actually hate what they are addicted to. As long as they defend it, they won't quit, at least not for long.
Depending on what you’re addicted to , yes it can be overcome. When you’re dependent , withdrawal can literally end your life if not managed medically.
Yeah dude it's definitely possible just stop little by little and I find it helps having someone of thing to stop for. Good luck if your trying to overcome something
I’m struggling with 7oh addiction. This stuff is destroying me, and I can’t stop
7oh? Never heard of it but if your in the u. s there might be a hotline you can call to help with this, but if not just stop little by little and try to find yourself more
It’s kratom. An unregulated herbal supplement with opiate antagonist effects.
Neat well I learn something new everyday, but yeah good luck on your journey dude you can beat it man we all fall a little the important part is that we get back up and work towards being that person we want to be
No. Let's use alcohol as an example.
If you were able to overcome your alcohol addiction you'd be able to have drinks in moderation thereafter. This is not true.
Moderation never works for addicts.
They can never go back.
Not what I was asking
I think you might be legitimately retarded
Yep. Retarded and immature too. Hell of combination you got going for you buddy
Yes, I have lots of friends in AA and NA who have stuck with the program and been clean for years to decades.
As opposed to what? Succumbing to it?
You either believe it’s possible or believe you’re doomed
Up to you
yeah
doesn't mean you won't get the itch to do it again but you can overcome it. it's a choice
It depends on what you’re addicted to, but yes it’s possible to at least keep it under control.
Yes. An addiction is a rule and rules are there to be broken.
Yes most definitely, drugs are different tho so the difficulty depends on the addiction levels as well
That depends on the addiction itself.
As a former addict I can assure you it is possible….
Are you still in touch with the recovery community?
I have not been to any meetings since before COVID. Working the steps really help. 4 and 5 are a must and should not be put off. Making amends takes a little longer or it did for me. But since then I went to college for the first time and now have a degree. I make more money now and actually pay bills and have a savings account with money in it too. I am about to retire and in the process of starting a business. None of which could I have done before giving it all to God and surrendering.
I heard people have a faith in God (not Muslim) and get strength. It has to be a REAL GOD
