Car colors in 1980 and 2025

The colors are a lot more boring now. I see a lot of black vehicles too. My wife had a 2006 Mercury Mariner and there was a plastic piece in the tailgate that broke. I bought the new part and had to buy spray paint to paint it to match. I looked for the paint color and it turned out that make and model came in three different shades of gray. Really boring.

It was so much nicer to see different color cars on the road, making each unique. Now, almost everyone drives a black, white, silver or gray car... boring.
The paints used for cars have continued to improve over the years as you might expect and with that today's colores are much nicer and tougher than the 1980s
Well in the US we still have all kinds of colors, my husband is trying to talk me right now into letting him get a new Corvette which looks purple but in the sun the color changes. To me seems like a lot of money so we will see.
Car colors have definitely evolved from the bold and vibrant shades of the 1980s to the more muted, elegant tones we see in 2025. Back then, bright reds, blues, and even yellows were popular, showcasing personality and flair. Nowadays, we’ve shifted towards sophisticated hues like metallic grays, whites, and blacks, reflecting a more minimalist and sleek aesthetic. It’s fascinating how this change mirrors broader cultural shifts in style and design! 🚗✨

if you ask for a particular color today... it will cost you as much as a whole car back in 1980...
and in a few years more... you will have to pay a monthly subscription to keep such color, otherwise... they will remotely turn it back to grey if you don't pay them, lmao
More subdued today not many vibrant colors available today.
80s cars had much more colors, I prefer it that way.
that's crazy to see
