Do you think all veterans are heros?

I think it would be exaggeration to say they are all heros since I would say the ones that are heros are the ones that see battle or are specifically prepared and ready for deployment in battlefields, I would imagine the cook is living the best life getting their military benefits while making a chili, I dont think feeding the heros makes you a hero, neither is fixing or building the machinery the heros kill or die in, or filing and documenting the casualties or signaling the jets on landing, I would say the ones that fall into the category of heroism would be infantry, pilots, even the drivers or pilots that drive into battlefields to drop off troops count cause they can still get shot down or blown to shit but there's nothing heroic from employing new recruits for example 😂

No, being someone who served and in battle there were people on the battlefield who were not hero’s. Many were there to serve their country, some were there only to get free collage and others were there because of legal issues. Some were absolutely cowards once the fighting started. You want to see a hero? Audie Murphy! Look him up. That’s a hero.

Oh while we are on the subject, post office workers, and school teachers are not hero’s… sorry.

Some nurses and some doctors are hero’s.

Many? Yes. All? Definitely not. According to one YouTube channel I follow, run by a retired Green Beret, there are some other former special forces troopers who are working with and for drug cartels. In fact, apparently, one of them is being run by a former Delta Force operator.

And it's not just about drugs and trafficking. Without getting into too much detail, let's just say I have some personal experience with veterans that more or less refutes the "they're all heroes" narrative.

No. Only those who perform extraordinary acts of valor are. Merely being in the military doesn't qualify. Not even being in combat qualifies. And some combat veterans are actually war criminals.

I don't think all cops are heroes, either.

I see no heroes at all. I see people masturbating to the concept of heroism. I see institutions giving medals to ensure that the next cannon fodder meathead says amen to whatever war is fancied.

I see burnt flesh, arms ripped off, heads cut off, people crying for their mom, their lover, shitting in their pants or ending in a psy hospital for a lifetime. Those with a different fate are not heroes, they're just lucky af.

no. hot take here: people will never choose to go slaughter other people just by themself. it's always high ranking politicians sending others to go do that. it starts with propaganda, riling people up and then these people are the willing tools that make people in power powerfull in the first place, meaning they are the one enabling unthinkable cruelties and evil. they are the source of evil so to speak.

No. Of course not. You have slick Willie's that wouldn't risk their life to save a family member let alone another soldier. Then there are those who have that hero mentality. They are ready to help or save a fellow human being because that's part of who they are. And there are those in between. I say reserve the hero label for someone who actually saved a person in combat so as not to water down the status for true heros.
