Would you keep the other sock if you lost its pair🧦 ?

I am doing laundry and I’ve noticed that one of the socks is not there anymore 😄

Well, I would never buy one-off pairs of socks, and this problem is one of several reasons why not.

Once a year, during the Christmas/New Years holiday period, I will go through my existing socks and pick out any pairs that are still in really good shape. Anything that's at all questionable, and anything without a pair, gets banished to the rag bin. And then I open up the dozen pairs of socks I bought and start using those. This new dozen is usually 2 packages of 6 pairs, and they're all identical. This means if one gets lost, the other one can still be used (sooner or later, there'll be another loss). I'll have some pairs left over from the culling, and those might not match the new ones (they usually don't), and so some socks are going to be discarded over the year, and occasionally I'll need to open up another 6-pack.

Anyway, that's my system.

I got tired of mismatched socks. I got tired of not being able to tell the difference between dark blue and black, or being able to tell the difference between slightly different styles. So several years ago I tossed almost all my socks and bought a large number that were all the same. Now it doesn't matter if one gets lost or ruined. I just grab two socks and they match.

Lol! This is funny 'cuz I was just complaining the other day while doing laundry that I have like 1 pair of socks that still match anymore. I really don't know what happens to the rest since I don't have a dryer. Sometimes I wonder if the dog just buries them someplace. 🤔

Sure. I put catnip in it, roll it up into a ball, and give it to my cat. She plays with it for hours. Also, I can keep all my pennies in one.

I do. I typically buy socks in bundles of six pairs or more. So the loss of a single sock means i still have at least one and up to ten more matching socks with which to match an oddball. I’m definitely not throwing out a perfectly good sock just because i wore one out and/or lost a sock.

I roll socks together in pairs before laundry and some of them still come a single on drying rack.

Don't throw the remaining sock away. The lost sock has probably found its way into a pant leg or a sleeve or the inside of some larger garment. It will turn up when you fold or wear whatever item of clothing the sock is hiding in.

Contrary to popular belief, dryers do NOT eat socks.

Haha well, it has to be someplace, and if it's not, then it is in your pump or your filter in your washing machine, because that's what happens to most of them.

For a while at least. It might turn up if I'm cleaning out my closet or under the bed. Sometimes the kids will dig through laundry baskets and you'll find one among their toys.

Because that's still a perfectly good sock and when I lose a sock from another pair which will eventually happen I can put those two different socks together and create a new mismatched pair.

Yes because the dryer likes to play games. If I throw the single sock away, the dryer will release the matching one from where it hides socks.

I would because I have this eventuality covered. When I buy socks, I buy 20 pairs all exactly the same and dispose of the old ones. So every sock is a pair of all the others.

So easy to never have a pairing problem.

Funny you should mention that. I always seem to be missing one sock. Usually the other will show up sooner or later. I have several generic color white ones I use for running etc that always match each other so it works.

Always hold on to them for a while. They're notorious for re-appearing. If you have multiple pair of the same socks, for sure hold onto the stray because you'll lose another just like it eventually.

Yes because I can think of two ways of using it. One for masturbating in bed and catching the semen ejaculation from my penis, Or I can put it on my hand and use it as a duster if I run out of swiffers 🙂
