Do you still wear your socks if there is a hole in them?

Doesn't it bother you to wear them?

Today, I saw a man in socks and crocs and noticed a hole in the heel of his sock. I know him from town and he can afford socks.

My husband will wear socks with holes if I don't throw them out first.

I was issued uniform boots by hospital public safety for years. When I started buying boots that actually fit I realized just how much you get when you actually pay for it. The hospital issue boots would shred the heels on a pair of socks within a couple of months because my foot would slide around inside it. Switching from Batesto Wolverine has made a world of difference. I'm thinking about trying Red Wing next time I'm in the market. You don't have to spend a lot to get something that will get the job done.

I don't wear them if they have holes however... I do keep them and put them in my hiking packs, they are a good emergency fire starter especially when you cut it up in pieces and place Vaseline on them, cotton balls/dryer lint work too... but you never know when you need it in a survival situation.

If it is a small hole I would still wear them if is was just around the house. If they are larger I use the socks for staining rags for one of my projects. Every single hole I get is in the heel and nowhere else. Seems to me socks are meant to be worn once before washing. If you wear them for several days holes start in the heels. Boy, wearing socks more than one day makes me feel like a heel.

My socks eventually wear holes in the heels. I'll continue wearing them until they get too large, but I only wear them on days when I'm not leaving the house.
When the holes get big enough, I toss them.
Sometimes I save one and match it to another one whose mate I have thrown away. That way I get maximum usage from my socks. Waste not, want not. 🤣

I don't wear socks with holes when I leave the house. Ya never know when you might have to take off your shoes.

I don't blame you. I get irritated when I see socks or even clothes with wholes. And your mother in law needs to mind her own business. Not her place to take old goofy socks. I remember I had to deal with a nosy mother in law and on top of my at that time husband now ex husband. I can't stand nosy mother in law's.

But I noticed that I have a hole in my sock I throw it away. Sometimes I noticed that I have a hole in my sock. By mistake I throw it in the hamper and have a tendency to see it again. I've wear it one more time and when I come home I do throw it away. The skill of darning socks is dying. Finding the time to set and darn your socks. Do you know how to darn a sock.

Only if it's the last clean pair that I have, otherwise I try to through out the sock with holes. Sometimes if enough of them match that workes out okay, or I have a drawer full of unmatched socks, lol.

If there's no hole then how do you get your foot in? Ok, real answer... I'd wear them at home as long the hole doesn't make them uncomfortable. But I wouldn't wear them to go out.

No. I have two styles and colors of socks that I wear. When one gets a hole, I toss it out and it remains a spare till another of the same type becomes a spare, at which time they become a full pair.

No way man. As soon as my toes poking through they are trash. As a matter of fact once one or a few are worn i toss them all and buy all new ones of the exact same thing so they all perfectly match so they are easy to wash and put away.
