I am a positive person in general but sometimes I feel really overwhelmed
I recently dealt with a situation that was out of my control.
In a way I’m still dealing with it.
I do think everything that happens has an outcome and often time an unforeseen one.
I don’t think it’s “for a reason” as in a pre defined plan.
But I do think nothing is random.
Things are just a succession of causations and consequences.
And it’s very hard to accept that our good intentions are sometimes not enough to get us the outcome we think we deserve
But it’s true.
And accepting it is a process we must deal with when faced with such situations
And yes it’s easier said than done…11 Reply- 3 mo
That’s a really mature way to look at it.
It’s hard when things don’t turn out the way we hoped, even when we meant well. But your intentions still matter. Hope things get better and easier for you

m 3 moFor supernatural reasons? No.
Instead I believe in psychosocial predictors influencing some life events we're going through, some life decisions we're going to take, depending on which society we live in, which circles, how we've been raised and by whom.
When it's out of my control, generally speaking, I probably oscillate between detachment and frustration?

Yeah, I am in “detachment mode” rn
- 3 mo
I think of detachment as a double-edged sword, it can be a useful fail-safe as much as it can disconnect us from the world
- 3 mo
I agree with you.. I’ll try everything first then I’ll detached when I really reached to the point that I can’t do anything anymore.. and I am reaching this point rn
The situation is affecting a person from my family that I really care about and I don't know what to do to help them - 3 mo
... If I understand it correctly, you're reaching this point but helplessness is still fresh in your mind, give it some time maybe? Give it some time to feel less conflicted, more at peace with the conclusion that is: "I've done what I could"

They have to go through what they are going through and part of my heart is aching for them all the time in the background, if you know what I am talking about

You can either live in delusion about that as many do, you can give up and be defeated by it, or you can take accountability for yourself and your loved ones, and do your best to prepare for hardships and work together to overcome them when they happen.
One of the reasons to have a strong framework of morals and values (to which you hold yourself accountable to at least as much as you hold anyone else to) is so that you have something to guide you, in good times and bad, knowing that life is a constant cycle between the two. And it's much easier to endure and overcome the hard times when you have close relationships with people who share those morals and values. No one can be strong 100% of the time.
150 years ago, nearly everyone understood this, because if you failed to understand it, you usually didn't live through the winter. Today, we are lucky enough to be significantly insulated against most of life's dangers and tragedies that when we have to deal with the remaining ones, we often feel overwhelmed, but that is a mindset and a choice, both of which can be changed. You have to make that a priority, which means that something else will have to be let go of.10 Reply1K opinions shared on Other topic. I do believe that for me its all about learning experiences
If you think about it we live life and we die everything in between is a learning experience hopefully we learn and become the best we can be we keep going.\n Forward, and there has to be a reason for that. You can't just be born live and it's all within us, all of us to become the best we can become. Not just to die , there's another reason too
I don't know if you believe in God that I have faith. And I say it's because when we die, there's another dimension we go into and we carry that on either that, or we come back here and relive it again, and hopefully become better people. So we move on to the next step. If you understand energy, understand frequency, understand the big Bang and the frequency of that and the frequency of love, everything is sound. Everything is like music, rhythm. Everything has a beat to it a pulse and with that pulse , is it comes a frequencies , it's just like how radio goes through the airwaves , and we hear it on the radio that's how it's done through frequency so energy doesn't die, we don't die our bodies do, but our energy, our soul, our spirit keep going on. And if\nEverything happens for a reason is to become the best. We can become ours to learn as much as we can learn to take it with us
But with everything that happens to us , whether good or bad , mostly bad and we learn from it , we will also see that it was for the best
Through Pain and hurt is how we learn. We either prolong getting back app and going forward again.\nAnd the only way we do that is learning from it , but no matter what it is , I do I have to learn something from it10 ReplyI dont believe in fate, predetermination or karma but I do believe in cause and effect. For instance if you got hit by a car was it meant to happen of was it because a drunk driver was speeding. A black woman dies post pregnancy was it institutional racism by the hospital or self inflicted pregnancy existing medical conditions that led to it?

3 moI believe everything happens for a reason. I look at it as a life lesson whether it’s positive or negative experience. Especially the negative ones. I look at those and learn and grow from them. I believe certain situations come into our lives to teach things, it could be anything from a problem something that didn’t go the way you intended it or a person who came into your life to teach you about yourself about how resilient you are and what your able to overcome. I also believe you cannot enjoy good times without bad times. How would you know what the good times look like if you don’t have anything to compare it to. I hope that makes sense to ya!!
10 ReplyDefinitely believe things happen for a reason. Not because of any religious ways but because of life having so many coincidences happening all the time!
Some things I believe do not happen for a reason but is a result of unfortunate events
I do not like situations that are out of my control but it definitely happens often
I usually see what happens and hope it is a positive thing happening to me

I can agree with some of that
I don’t think everything happens for a reason but I do think we can choose a reason in how we respond.
Some things are random, unfair, or simply out of our control.
What matters is whether we let them harden us or refine us.
When I can’t control a situation, I focus on my reaction. That’s the only part that’s truly mine.10 Reply- 2.6K opinions shared on Other topic.
3 moEvents cause Events. For example you're a few minutes late leaving the for work because a bird crapped on your windscreen, this delay means you avoided being in an accident. This isn't the result of some greater plan, it's just a bird had a good meal.

it isn’t the end of the world , . We are all going to die one day so live each day the best way that you can , and don’t allow negativity to take the better of you , just say Fuck it10 Reply- 982 opinions shared on Other topic.
3 moIt’s not necessarily that everything happens for a reason, but there is meaning in everything that happens. Finding that meaning makes otherwise chaos feel more manageable and it often helps to discover the silver lining in our clouds. This is, i believe, the intention behind the use of the phrase “Everything happens for a reason”.
10 Reply 12.8K opinions shared on Other topic. No, the world is a random place with no discernable pattern. A bus jumps the curb and kills you and it was just bad luck.
11 Reply- 3 mo
Yeah.. it’s just chaotic

It takes cognitive behavioral training to change that but it’s worth it. I also have this struggle
I believe things do happen for a reason , but I feel we don’t know what these things are at the time.
