We use both.
In particular, a very cost-effective thing to do is to buy packages of flour sack towels.
I used to live in a hotel so I started buying them for a variety of reasons and then my wife adopted this idea.
You can get a 10-pack at Walmart for about $10 now. We have about 30 and will go through about 3 to 5 each day. We then throw them in the white laundry. They are fabulous. I use them for dinner napkins, drying clothes, rags for cleaning or wiping, and even to wrap foods while cooking in the microwave so they remain moist (for instance, a tortilla can dry out by microwaves, but the flour sack towel can retain the moisture).
Seriously, they are the best, most cost-effective investment you can make in your kitchen.

Loved the details about the cost… I buy the paper towels from Costco.. it’ll last forever 😄
You should have paper towels.. But you still need more lasting kitchen towels. Normal kitchen towels aren't that expensive but they're not cheap either. And, ideally, to keep a clean kitchen, you are going to go through a lot of kitchen towels. This is why flour sack towels are so useful. You'll go through quite a few in a day and just clean them when you next to the wash.
Flour sack towels are also useful for personal hygiene reasons. For instance, they can help you reach places on your body that are difficult to reach and that should not be cleaned using anything else...
I prefer paper towels. They do a better job of cleaning up a mess compared to cloths and don't require washing. Cloths keep dirt and crud and germs on them compared to the freshness of a new paper towel. And paper towels come from a renewable resource... Trees, while cloths need fossil-fired electricity to wash them.
Good point
I use both. Dish cloths for general wiping down the counter , sink and dining table. I'll use paper for disinfectant purposes.
Yeah, I forgot to add a third poll for using both because I use both also 😄
I use both. Kitchen clothes are better for wet wiping while paper is better for collecting moisture

We have a number of kitchen towels, and use as little paper as possible. When a towel is dirty we toss it into a basket, and then put the towels in the laundry about once a week. The towels last for years -- some of ours are almost twenty years old.
Twenty years old !!!😄
Get the good ones from Williams-Sonoma or Sur La Table. You'll pay more but they will last almost forever. It's the same for cookware and cutlery. Buy quality and you'll never have to buy it again. Sure, it's more expensive but it's the stingy person who spends the most.
We also use cloth napkins. My wife gets them at Goodwill for about $1 each. We have a couple dozen.
prefer paper towels but it's mostly a matter of convenience. they are readily availabel, clean and dry. whereas as clothes need to be washed
but the eco conscious person in me has been committed to using clothes. i made it a goal for the yera and so far so good
Mostly kitchen cloths unless I'm cleaning up something messy.
I don't like spending money on disposable stuff. I don't like cutting down trees to make paper. And I don't like contributing to landfills.
@elenaseluna good question. I use both equally, but use paper towels to clean up big messes or spills
Thanks 😊
Paper towels
Cloth carries bacteria over from one use to another and if you’re gonna wash it after every use you’ll wash it every day and destroy it
(Not to mention waste the water)
I use a lot of paper towels. But for different reasons i have drying towels to dry my dishes. But I use paper towels for a little messes , or to dry my hands
Paper towels. Cloths are bacteria traps.
Paper towels are much more hygienic, as you toss them away afterwards. They are also good for absorbing spilt liquids.
Both but i rarely go to the kitchen unless i wanna ear something 😄

Do you cook food
Nope i don't, don't know how...
Women cook and i eat 😁
Ok 😄
Depends on what it's for, but generally kitchen towels.
If you buy good paper towels it's better in every way than a table cloth.
I hate the idea of those germs sitting in the damp cloth. I keep one by the sink and use it for drying stuff but it gets rotated with every laundry cycle.
I use both cloth and paper towels, the choice depending on the task at hand.
At home, paper towels, because I don't have to wash them and just too them.
Paper towels... honestly because i am sorta lazy in the kitchen.
If something deserves to get tossed, or anything flammable, it will be wiped up with paper towel. Otherwise, cloth towels and rags.
Though there are also clothes/towels for the kitchen as well. Paper towels are easier and quicker.
Depends what it's for. For drying hands obviously hand towels but for quick mess cleanup paper is better.
Kitchen cloths because u can wash them n reuse them. Papr towels u throw away then u hav 2 buy more.
I use both it depends on what I'm using it for.
