I hand wash pans, cooking bowls and utensils. But I rinse cups, dishes and bowls and stack them in the dish washer. That way, I only have to run the washer once a week or so.
I usually wash plates by hand and put them in the dish washer to dry. And I often take them out of the washer and reuse them rather than taking fresh ones out of the cupboard.
My wife is the one who has more of a tendency to want to "sterilize" things in the dish washer. LOL

Dishwaters aren't really popular here in Japan and we don't have much space in our kitchen for one. So I just wash them by hand.
I miss it sometimes though. I had dishwaters when I was living in the US and they were so handy. Yet I've gotten used to washing the dishes now.
I also optimized my cooking to use the minimum dishes, like I have an immersion blender where I can blend things directly in a pot without having to transfer to a separate blender and then have more stuff to wash.
Handwash. It is hilarious people will spend 10 minutes loading a dishwasher, wait an hour for the machine to wash them and then spend another few minutes unloading when handwashing and drying could have been done in 10 minutes in total.
We usually do the dishwasher. Unless there's something that can't go in the dishwasher, then we handwash it.

I have a dishwasher, but if I have to I'll just use the sink and my own hands. I don't mind washing the dishes, because it helps me to become calm and relaxed. It's like a form of meditation.
Dishwasher. Hell if I could fit a wok or dutch oven in there, I'd wash those in the dishwasher as well. I've got better things to do with my time.

I prefer to use the dishwasher, except for some fragile items that get hand-washed.
I put basically everything in the dishwasher other than pots and pans that clearly don't belong in it
With only one person in my house I have no need for an automatic dish washer.
We never had a dishwasher. My wife and I both wash the dishes by hand
I don't have a dishwasher so it's not exactly a choice. I typically leave them to soak.
