My neighborhood only comprises of retired army officers or professors or doctors or government officers.
Me and my sister are the only kids in my neighborhood and I used to cycle around but then my sister broke her arm while learning how to cycle and my dad now doesn't let me use my cycle because he's scared of any other injury.
Welp apparently e bikes are in now. lol
How is e bike different than cycles with thick wheels?
Well it’s basically giving kids the ability to drive. Apparently they have caused a lot of accidents
Ooo so it doesn't have pedals. It's like an actual bike but for kids. But why are kids allowed to use this? Isn't this illegal because it's basically the same thing as any engine based two wheeler but smaller in size and kid-friendly looking?
Im not sure how they scoot by the law maybe because its not a real engine? But i know its an issue and maybe the law might step in and correct it.
But yeah they are basically motorcycles by don’t go anywhere near as fast or make the loud exhaust noises
I see, but still kinda dangerous to give kids, right?
Legal age to ride electric scooter in India is 16 and above, my parents are basically two wheeler dealers and sell electric scooter too. But except for 2 times, thanks to my rebellious cousins, I never really was allowed to ride them. My dad won't allow me to ride one regularly till I get an official driving licence after I turn 18. I used to whine about it a lot as a 16 year old but I kind of understand it now.
Yeah its just they haven’t received the proper training y know. And kids being kids they tend to do dangerous stunts and stuff to show off. If we gotta have these things there should be regulations as with anything else that is potentially dangerous
Agreed
Yes! And they're on really busy streets during rush hour, too! I've seen them popping wheelies in the middle of a major intersection. They've become a nuisance as of late. The police department has come out to say that it is unlawful for some of the electric bikes to be used by kids under 16.
I’ve witnessed teens riding their e bikes at dangerous speeds near cars. I don’t remember if they were even wearing protective gear.
Not in my neighborhood or near my neck of the woods although I have witnessed it (only once).
This was at sunset/nightfall if my memory is correct, this was well over 7-9 months ago.

Sometimes, the kids mostly use regular bikes.
My neighbourhood isn’t rich enough for that lol.
