Can you be deceived? Can you be successfully lied to? Or do you think you can see right through someone when they are lying to, deceiving, or misdirecting you?

Yes, and to assume otherwise is to open your self to deception.
People are stupid. They can be made to believe any lie because either they want to believe it's true or because they are afraid it's true.
The mind is ruled by psychological biases. Such biases twist the mind into believing some things are true, when they are not. Two of the most powerful biases are hope (or, described differently, optimistic belief that something may be true) and fear. When someone hopes something may or may not be true, such as that a friend did not betray him, then he may actually believe in a lie told to him by another, or told to himself, that the friend did not betray him, when in actuality the friend did. Similarly, when someone fears something may or may not be true, such as that one is not competent enough to fill one's responsibilities, then he may actually believe that such is true. Instead of allowing biases to twist one's mind, one must try and escape the effect of the biases and determine the actual truth of a situation.
Anyone can be lied to. Can I detect a lie? Well, I have a pretty accurate common sense / bullshit meter in my brain. And I'm a cynical, skeptical bastard by nature. But come at we on some topic I don't have a background in and I might buy your bullshit for a time. For instance if a brain surgeon is telling me something about surgical procedure, I'll probably believe it. If nuclear tech tells me something about swapping out fuel rods in a reactor, I'll probably believe it. Fuck if I know better.
If a woman is lying to me, I can tell 95% of the time. I know the tricks. I don't get attached easily so I'm not blinded by emotion. And I'm an introvert. I'm constantly reading other people's speech patterns, body language, eyes contact and pupil dilation, breathing rate, unconscious fidgeting with hands hair a phone a pen, etc. It's sorta a hobby for me. Once upon a time it was part of my job. Old habits die hard and all that.
I'm good in recognizing if someone lies but I have to be focused on body language of this person and finding out the truth is in my interest. If something isn't very relevant for me or the jackpot isn't worth to play I can be deceived. Funny when that happens some people blow it out like a huge victory and result of their master mind,
I used to be able to tell when someone was lying to me because they wouldn't look me in the eye.
However, now people will look at me right in both eyes and lie like a rug to me. I can't tell anymore until it's too late.

It’s very difficult to pull the wool over my eyes. That kind of vigilance comes at a cost though.
I used to lie a lot and i mostly got away with it. This instilled in me a sense of near paranoia about others lying to me. So i read a lot about body language and deception detection techniques. Combined with years of experience as a near pathological liar, i can sense deception quite easily and accurately. However, being on my toes around strangers elevates my cortisol levels and shortens my social battery. Which isn’t overly enduring anyway. On account of being an introvert. I’ve only been conned once in the last twenty years, and going farther back if you exclude women.
Can I be deceived? Yes.
Can I be successfully lied to? Yes.
Can I see right through someone when they are lying to, deceiving, or misdirecting me? Well...

Oh no. I know no one would ever try to deceive me so that's why I always send all my credit card and bank info to those people that ask for it in emails.
Well I’m human. I am pretty good at detecting lies from people but I’m still a human being. Anyone who says they can’t be lied to or manipulated is probably being lied to and manipulated and they just haven’t figured it out
The better I get at telling when I'm being lied to, the harder I get blindsighted when I'm wrong.
So I figure you're better off hedging your bets and avoiding people you don't understand.
Anyone can be deceived, including myself.
I always ask questions and remain skeptical, never take someone at their word while judging based on their actions (even lack thereof).
I can't be deceived easily because I was deceived several times back there and those experiences helps me to sense deceiving somehow I understand people s intentions when they talk or behave in some certain patterns indicating bad intentions
it has happened, so yes
even the 1% counts
also, my cats can be very tricky...
Yes, I'm very gullible. You can easily deceive me once. However if you lie every time you open your mouth, like Donald Trump or Sir Keir Starmer I am going to wise up.
Absolutely. Itll. be hard, especially in person, but I can be tricked. Just a very bad idea to try.
Not without me knowing! Until it's too late..
I can see right through people.
Yeah, I can get played really easily…
Anyone can be deceived.
I can smell BS a mile away
Not so easily.
Yes.
Yes I can
