I personally think men age better than women, and I am attracted to older men since I was a teen. Still am. I never felt insecure about my age or looks, but it seems lot of women are.
I think most people realize men age much better. We also know it’s fashionable to shit on men while kissing women’s asses so I expect most people to accept statements like this with no pushback.

I never heard that. It's usually the other way around.
Most women are at the peak of perfection in their teens and early 20s when their faces and newly blossomed bodies are youthful and flawless. But some women remain amazingly beautiful for years. I have even seen women in their 50s who were near perfection.
It depends on genetics, lifestyle and fitness.
But, over time, women's skin loses elasticity. Their boobs are less perky; their butts and thighs can develop dimples; their faces develop wrinkles. They rely upon hair color and makeup to look youthful.
Since men's bodies are not shaped by body fat, they can remain perfect for decades as long as they remain fit and lean. In fact, they can develop more muscle over time. They also grow more hair on their chests and stomachs, which many women find sexy and masculine.
Lines on a man's face and craggy features are seen as rugged. Facial hair can even make them look more masculine.
Graying temples can look sophisticated. If a man has a good head of hair, women don't mind salt and pepper.
The guys who have problems are those who start balding and/or develop dad bods.
I think a lot of women are attracted to older guys. Some guys are attracted to older women, but the majority prefer younger women.

The typical comment I hear is that men look "distinguished" with gray hair while women just look old. And a guy with a few wrinkles looks "rugged" while women once again look old and tired.

I've heard it the other way around actually. I can tell you're bias and that's okay, but women in their 30-60s are dragged and men publicly, loudly and proudly say "they're expired goods". I dunno, there are some pretty attractive older women out there. I can think of a number of ladies that are older and still rocken it. I think if you eat well and are active and take care of yourself you can be desirable for a long time but it is work. You really need to be careful of what you eat.

Men tend to be able to woo younger women through experience and wealth so they can attract them when they get older more easily as this is something that many women seek. Older women may be able to attract younger men but I don't think men have much of a long term approach to these kinds of relationships.
