Why Do Some People Love To Be Touched, Held, Hugged and Rubbed Gently And Other People Can't Stand For Other People To Touch Them?

I love being held in my man's arms, being hugged and loved on, yet I have met people who don't like it at all.

I'm curious why someone wouldn't like that feeling? 🤔 So for those of you who don't want to be touched by anyone is there a particular reason why you don't?

Children who were not held and cuddled when growing up tend to not be comfortable with being touched. And children who were sexually abused tend to go to one extreme or the other: either hypersexual or asexual.

As a very touchy feely person, I once dated a girl who didn't like to be touched, and I ended that very quickly, because we were fundamentally incompatible.

I always want my girlfriend near me. If she can't sit right next to me, then we at least try to sit where we can hold hands When we are in the car, we either hold hands or I have my hand on her leg or something. And if I take it away for very long, she gets sad. If we are watching a TV show together, she will sit right next to me or even lie against me. I couldn't be with a woman who didn't like to hold hands and cuddle. It would break my brain and my heart.

But I have family members like that , even a slight embrace , makes things incredibly awkward.

Well, I am one of those people that does not like to be touched, hugged, kissed or cuddled. It is just a feeling that I am not comfortable with. Of course, I will hug all my family members and kiss them on the cheek because that is totally different.

However, I do abhor being too close physically to other people because I don't know what or who they have touched and whether they have cleaned themselves after having touched certain body parts.

It is one thing to be intimate with someone but a totally different one being clean afterwards mainly if the hands and mouth came into contact with those contaminated body parts.

I prefer to be on the safe side and avoid touching those people. So far, it has helped me well.

They’ve probably never experienced love and hugs growing up as a child. I didn’t so my need to want to be touched depends. The man I’m seeing, I can’t get enough of him. I adore touching him and love being touched back. His cuddles make me feel so safe. But touching other people… no thanks. I don’t like random hugs off people I barely know

Maybe those who dont like to be touched feel insecure or have some bad experience in the past we can't know the exact reason for this maybe its just their chatacteristic some people are warm blooded and talkative while some others are distant and cold

I find being hugged by people I have no or just shallow relationship with, is offensive. Of course this is different with good friends, partners, family members.

It is not that I don’t like to be hugged. I guess I am afraid of overstepping someone’s boundaries that doesn’t like to be hugged. So I just don’t.
