You’re missing the obvious part of this whole thing.
Sickle, cutlass, spears, and a pitch fork were thrown before she had her bow and arrows out. Either she is a Master at throwing combat weapons then preparing her bow once she runs out of those, or there’s an army chasing after the panda and barefoot karate chick with the red hair.

My theory is, they entered a militarized area they weren’t allowed to set foot in and were chased down as a result. Only thing I can think of based on the context, yes I took this assignment way too seriously.

Lol, good thing you refresh my memories here. Ranma, I talked about this one recently with a buddy who watched that anime too, as a kid. She told me she didn't remember it was that naughty. So I need to check this one out again, to see it with my own eyes

It's from Ranma 1/2. The girl and panda are actually a guy and his father who fell into pools while training. The guy was cursed to turn into a girl when he gets wet, while his father was cursed into a panda. There are two other characters I know of who were cursed; a girl turning into a cat and another guy turning into a duck. I haven't read or watched all of it.
