Not sure why Belgium, Switzerland and Kosovo are gray, with no number. Also wondering why Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary are much higher than all the others. Wondering if any of that is significant.
Knowing a bit about languages, I'm gonna guess it's the number of letters in that country's native language. I know Icelandic has some extra characters for the "th" sound, and Scandinavian countries have an extra o sound, while Spanish has the nye character.
That would also explain why Belgium, Switzerland and Kosovo are not included, since each has multiple native languages (Belgium has French, Dutch and German; Switzerland has German, Italian, French and Romansch; Kosovo has Serbian and Albanian).
It's definitely NOT "Number of letters in the alphabet", because Montenegro has 32, not 30 (like in the map).

This one can be answered using logic alone without knowing any statistics. Number of swear words is the most likely answer.

The number of genders officially recognized by various European countries. 😂😂😂😂
This map is pretty indeed.
The numbers in the range between 21 and 33 could perhaps mean the average predictability rate of the population in question?
If we go by the letter, that is :)
Slovak alphabet leads
Must be the alphabet.. Can easily exclude the others and just testing a few countries matches perfectly.

Irish was the hardest and most pointeless language to learn. Glad I got out of it.
Apparently prison officers in the USA learn it because gang members learnt it to use as code

I got an exemption at age 5 but I remember how hard it was. Also in the leaving cert there were people who could not even say their name.
