I'm two years to my 30s. Lol.
So far, so interesting and so intriguing, so far.

I'm 33. I chose interesting, but ALL options fit.

Bad:

-Had to come to terms with the fact I will have physical limitations I did not have in my teens and 20s

-Had injuries that ended a career I love

-Lost contact with almost all my friends due to life obligations

-Not knowing how to date at my age because my last relationship ended when I was 22

Good:

-My temper is under control

-Finally feel like I'm gaining control over my finances

-Able to go for things I want that I was too secure to admit to myself before

-More secure in who I am.

That's honesty deserves MHO 🏆 as well as being able to still smile out of bed everyday to the open light ☀️ sky ☁️

Man, you sound a lot like me, except I didn't get my first real girlfriend until I was 29 and I am now married to her at 31. I lost all my desired career prospects. I am a former Advanced EMT and software engineer. Now, I just collect SSDI. After 25 jobs in a span of 15 years, I had to call it quits to protect my Medicare.

It was a long time ago - Ronald Reagan, George Bush, and Bill Clinton were the presidents in that decade of my life, but I remember it being some excellent years.

I quite liked Obama as well as qualities of Nixon and W. Bush and Ford and Carter - and even H. W. Bush - there's a lot to explain of me but that's what I would say - a lot of qualities I pick and choose of what are you know. Obama had honesty, Bush W. had humbled confidence, Clinton was an everyman as was Obama, and Nixon wanted the best for Americans (had watergate not occurred) and at least Nixon gave in to resign and Ford pardoned him from a goodwill gesture 🙌🏻

It’s been tough I won’t lie… my dad died in 2019 when I was going on 29, and even besides all of that and the persisting grief, I mean… has it not been hard for everyone with everything going on in the world? But I saw it all as a time where we’ve really had to buckle down and get serious.

Even through all the weirdness of the pandemic, I stayed motivated and patient, got to work from home for a few years, figured some things out, and saved a bunch of money. I’ve worked 4 or 5 jobs in just the last 5-6 years alone, and pushing for another now… taught myself some basics on investing and started building my credit… got my score from basically nothing up to 800+, and bought my dream car last year.

If times are tough, simply put, you have to get hungry! And remember to reward yourself every once in a while… It’s easy to want to just roll over sometimes and throw in the towel. I’ve had my days for sure, when you know you’re due for great things and it’s just not happening fast enough… but I really feel like I’m on the cusp of something great now.

Just have to keep pushing and putting in the hard work until things happen!

I left my 30s behind over 20 years ago. From what I remember it was really tough. I had a wife and 3 kids to support. I was about to become unemployed and I was getting a Masters Degree at night and it was a struggle to keep my grades up. I had a new house built and I was still running marathons. I am glad that I went through it but would not want to do it again.

@browsingthroughthe It really was a stressful time. I really did not know how it was all going to turn out. I learned how to solve problems often coloring outside the lines. I am really glad that I did it. I had a very successful career in IT and now am teaching the next generation of network engineers.

My 30's was me building my financial base. I was able to expand that from 40 to 45. And my portfolio exploded from 45 to 50, almost doubling in 5 years. And that is was allowed me the freedom to retire early

My 30's were good, but my 40's were better.
