What do you think about adults who watch cartoons?

I actually think people who think cartoons are only for children, nerds, or losers tend to be less intelligent and less open to new concepts.

I'm an avid anime watcher and manga reader, long before it became as popular as it is today. When I was in high school people would bully you if they knew you watched it, calling you a nerd and stuff. I was quiet as hell about it back then. I still kinda am unless someone else brings up the topic.

But cartoons/animes can have very mature concepts and plots. They can be more dark and gruesome than shows with real people. They can be extremely romantic and heartwarming.

I find that animes generally tend to hit harder for me than shows with real people because of the plots and concepts.

People who are close minded to them prevent themselves from experiencing a whole different incredible world.

Depends on the cartoon. There are plenty of cartoons with adult humor and adult themes. Even the better children’s programs have subtle jokes for adults. I remember recognizing that when i took my young niece to see “Toy Story”. Afterwards i remembered that my dad used to watch “Looney Tunes” with me. So i went back and rewatched some of the classics. Turns out that “Looney Tunes” offers a very different experience for adults and i’ve tried to watch as much of the original programs as i can find.
There are obviously programs produced exclusively for kids though. If i knew of an adult who watched those, i would assume they had some sort of developmental disorder. If i couldn’t detect such a dysfunction, i might assume they’re a creep.

I wouldn't measure maturity level of a person on hand of someone's preferences to watch cartoons or anime, rather on achievements those people realized with opportunities they had and life choices they made.

I think they haven't lost their inner child and their imagination is still pretty active which is only a good thing.

It's just a medium. The way I see it. Cartoons are cheap to make and studios don't like spending money on new ideas so a lot of the good stuff is probably animated. Though too many cartoons can lead to adopting some patterns of behavior that aren't exactly helpful

I don't really think about anyone else. But I love classic cartoons like Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Foghorn Leghorn, Daffy Duck, Angry Beavers, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Sylvester and Tweety, Tom and Jerry, etc. Yes I will cast that to my TV on a Saturday morning while I'm scrolling emails.

I once lived with the band I was playing in, and two of the guys thought 'Ren and Stimpy' was the coolest thing in the world. I didn't stay very long. They also liked dumb shows like 'Herman's Head', etc.

I mean it depends on what cartoons they watch. Not all cartoons are for kids. I don't think kids would understand most of the jokes on The Simpsons.

I think adults can watch whatever the fuck they want. Anything is fair game as long as they can separate fiction from reality while watching those cartoons.

It depends. Some animation is quite good and there might not be a good alternative. Like Babylon 5's The Road Home. At least eight of the primary cast members had passed away so animation seemed to be the only proper solution.

Cartoons abound. While it would not be irresponsible to allow a child to see Daria, appreciation of the script would not begin until adolescence and many adults watch it.
