What does “short term” mean to you?

Depends on the context. A short term rental could be something rented by the week. A short term relationship could be something entered without the goal of making it become permanent.

• The first few months dating to reach an exclusive relationship?

I would think short term for me means less than 12 months.

But I'm a long term person, for employment, where I live, relationships, just about everything.

I used to buy old cars but I expected to keep them a minimum of 4 years, and the same with my cycles I've had them many years.

Perhaps some of my investments are short term but that's probably something to do with the institutions rather than me.

it depends on what we are talking about. A short term rental can be a weekend but a short term job is a month.

it means you’re hired for short-term work then they’re gonna let you go maybe two weeks later or a month later. The same meaning for relationships when it is short-term
