That was on one of the new Twilight Zone episodes (new as in not the original Rod Serling series, but still probably 20+ years ago). A couple is having money troubles and a stranger comes to the door and gives them a briefcase with a single button in it. He tells them if they push the button they will receive $100,000 (which was worth a lot more then) but someone they don't know and who doesn't know them will die.

They fret over it and finally push the button. The next day the stranger shows up with a briefcase with $100,000 for them. He takes the case with the button and they ask him what he is going to do with it. He says it will be reset and given to someone else, he doesn't know who, only that it will be someone who they don't know and who doesn't know them.

I don't think this is a moral dilemma any of us will ever deal with. However I think 80% of people would take this money and I would do take this money too. Bad luck for the poor soul who has to die.
