It won't go away either.
Why did a black dot suddenly appear 24/7 at the top of my cellphone on everything?

Trending & News I asked AI and here's an interesting suggestion, in addition to the damaged pixel idea...
On some operating systems, if you have too many unread notifications to fit across the top bar, the phone will display a small black dot (โซ๏ธ) at the top to indicate there are more notifications hidden from view. Pulling down your status bar and clearing your notifications will make this type of dot disappear immediately.
Thanks for MHO
@AviatorTom
You're very welcome kind sir ๐๐งก
it could be dead pixels... on the physical screen

Sage when's the last time you turned your phone off if you feel something's wrong with it turn the phone off let it sit for 5 minutes turn it back on see if it is still there I don't know what you're talking about but try that see if it works if I ever have a problem with my phone I turn it off and then turn it back on
I've just asked my friend AI lol.
She says the black dot is usually a front facing selfie camera, and it's easy to find out if it is by putting your finger over the camera.
Or it could be a privacy indicator, an infrared sensor, or physical screen damage.
Your friendly AI person will explain how to find out what the dot is if it's not a camera lol.
It';s those pesky democrats again. They saw that you voted for Trump.
It could be dead pixels/screen damage. If it is very geometrical I'd think unlikely.
My Samsung S20 has a black dot that is the front camera. It is possible you have just never noticed before but now you have you can't unsee
They spy on you. Who are they, I do not know but try this... Talk about a particular thing a few times in one day when you have your phone next to you, you do not have to be talking on your phone, but have it close to you when you are talking about it with someone, and the next thing you see the following day are adds ads about it
Have you dropped your mobile lately on the floor?
@TonyMetal___1986
No! It stays on my bed in the holder 24/7.
I leave it at home when I go out.
Such phone screens are weak, if they were hit with anything, they start malfunctioning, also it depends on what kind of glass is the screen made of, do you have a screen protector stuck on the original one?
If it's suspicious, cover it with a piece of a sticker or a piece of tape.
@sage2021 Sounds like dead pixel 🤔
Maybe it's a dead bug?
Probably some bad lcd pixels.
