Should I let him cut my hair?

My boyfriend of 5 years has never failed to let me know that he doesn't like my long hair. Recently, I found out that he has a hair fetish. After I confronted him, he told me that he's always wanted to cut my hair. My hair is down past my waist. I'm not a really vain girl, but he wants to cut it into a bob with a slight nape shave, shave my nape and have my hair past my shoulders, buzz it all off or give me a short fauxhawk. I really do love him and I don't mind cutting my hair for him, but which style should I choose? I don't really like short hair, but he said if he's going to shave my nape, it would be a high nape shave, going past my ears and it would be hard to grow out.

NO. If you want to cut your hair, do it to a style you know suits you/your personality. If you don't know what looks good cut bit by bit playing with different methods of curling/straightening, layered, not layered (or both) u, v, and straight cut and all that good stuff! It takes a long time to grow back!

Don't forget to think about maintenance, what do you do to style your hair now and what are you willing to do with a different style?

Has he said why he doesn't like your long hair? Has it got something to do with texture/damage/thickness? Like does he have a decent understandable explanation?

Usually short cuts suit girls with angular faces or basically ones without much fat, do you think you'd look good with the cuts he mentioned?

Get a backbone! Your boyfriend hates long hair. But he decided to date a girl who's always had long hair? Your hair is past your waist so it's not like you just started growing it yesterday, it's clearly been long for a while. You don't really like short hair but you're considering letting him cut your hair from past your waist to a really short bob or shave it? This can't be life.

You're right, hair does grow back. But hair down to your waist isn't exactly something that happens overnight either. I honestly feel like your hair should be your choice. If you want to have it short then it should be short. If you love for it to be long, then it should be long. The only thing your boyfriend should have to say is that you're beautiful.

it's up to you how much you should sacrifice your looks for him. His ideas sound bizarre to me personally, and in any case , he should take your feelings into account when doing something that while not permanent, would be a long term alteration of your whole style.

I can't recommend a style, and I don' t know that anyone could without seeing you, but before you let him cut anything, make sure he gives you some pictures of what he's thinking, and make sure you're okay with it.
