Guys only - what does "I don't want to rush into things" mean?

So I have been dating this guy for about three weeks now

And just tonight I admitted my feelings to him. He said he liked me too and said I was fun. I'm also letting you know we haven't engaged in sexual means, we haven't even kissed yet, letting him take the lead. After our date he texted me saying he wanted to go out again next week. I told him I wish I got a kiss and said he "goes with the flow" and then said he didn't want to rush into anything but he loves going out and getting to know me. Again he said he liked me and that I was fun. I asked him if he was interested in anyone else and said no, so I'll be naive and take his word for it. I know I put in a lot of information, but I like this guy and I don't want to scare him away. I said I liked him he said he liked me too.

well if a girl backs you into a corner by saying "I wish I got a kiss" either you think "DANG I should have kissed her" and say "I don't want to rush into things" to save face, or you were not especially interested, you say that.

now that I am older, getting laid is easier and I am not desperate for sex. so I'd go out with girls genuinely to hear them out if they've got something good to say, or go to a museum or an opera - not to impress them but because this is what I want. if I am interested in a girl intellectually but she is not blowing my skirt up with her sexuality, yet she presses for me to make the move, I will frequently say just what you've heard, not to offend her

getting laid is easier as you get older? I must have missed that seminar..

Consider this: For normal guys who were good students and hard workers in school / college, and became successful and acquired cool experiences and interesting personalities, so now have a lot to give and to share, getting laid is way easier with age. For high school football team captains, who'd popped all those girls' cherries in school but have now gained weight and drive the same beat up Corvette and flip the same burgers, getting laid is of course harder with age.

Some guys like to take it slower and get to know you before they start locking lips with you. This is a good thing, this is the kind of guy you should want to be with. Probably the one who won't end up using you for your body.

Normally I'd have a good response but after reading the whole question, I've come to this conclusion.

He means exactly what he says. He doesn't want to rush things. The opposite of going with the flow is fighting against the grain.

what part is it that you don't understand? I'm gunna assume that its the "things" part, since that's that only word that is even slightly ambiguous. by "things" he means all actions relating to a relationship...hope that helps
